A source I trust has confirmed that Taylor is in Rome to hopefully finalize his EU passport before the January transfer window closes, which would make him eligible to play for Bayern.
Official: Bayern Munich signs Real Salt Lake academy product Taylor Booth (who has gotten an EU passport to be eligible for the move) https://t.co/OzwQYMJbF9— Subscribe to GrantWahl.com (@GrantWahl) January 31, 2019

So with a Euro passport, he is fully eligible at all levels, being that he is signed within the window as well, correct?
So do we think that Bayern is legitimate in their interest in NA talent? Or is this a case of them attempting to replicate the success other Bundesliga teams have had with Americans. I guess in short, what are the expectations for when and how involved Davies, Booth, and Richards are within the next one to three years with their first team?
I think it is pretty certain that the interest in Davies is completely legitimate. He has been talked up by their own people, stating that he is better than all of their other academy guys. As for Richards and Booth ... I guess time will tell.
And Davies already debuted. Richards and Booth are now part of the youth development crapshoot. Bayern wouldn't waste resources on them if they didn't think the players could come good, but the deck is still stacked against them.

Maybe someone whose familiar with Bayern’s academy history the last few years can shed light on how many academy players made it to the first team / other Bundesliga teams.
Not many... I can think of David Alaba and Emre Can off the top of my head in the last few years... I guess you can count Mats Hummels too and of course there's Stuttgart legend Julian Green.
Toni Kroos and Thomas Muller also came through Bayern's academy. Few have broken through to become regulars for Bayern, but like Barcelona or Man U's academy, many have become regulars for other top flight clubs (not including Alaba, Can, and Hummels): Philipp Max - Augsburg - one of the best LBs in the Bundesliga Sandro Wagner - came back to Bayern for a season, but had a strong scoring record with Hoffenheim and Darmstadt Nicola Sansone and Roberto Soriano - Bologna - both have been regulars for the last 8 years for various Serie A clubs and recently for Villarreal in La Liga Alessandro Schöpf - regular for Schalke and the Austrian national team Holger Badstuber - was actually a regular for Bayern and Germany until he career took a nosedive with injuries. He's now at Stuttgart after a short spell at Schalke. Sebastian Langkamp - regular in the Bundesliga with Augsburg, Hertha, and now Bremen. Mehmet Ekici - was a regular for Werder Bremen and then for Trabzonspor in the Turkish league and now plays for Fenerbahce
Bayern at one point were promoting quite a bit. There 2nd team had a bad dip and fell into the Regionalliga (4th division). A lot of talent left and they have not been able to get promoted back. There has been some changes to the structure of the academy and money put into it. Currently Bayern II are tied for first. Promotion to the 3rd division is very important in attracting, keeping and promoting players.
US youth international Taylor Booth (18) made his debut today for Bayern Munich U19s, coming on in the 70th minute of an eventual 4-4 draw against Stuttgart U19s. is booth one of the harder seemingly 'blue chip' prospect kids to get a handle on due to the relative lack of match time?
Interview: https://www.goal.com/en-us/news/bay...o-be-a-new-kind-of/1c4rrju8374751m0auaxgozkzu Booth made his debut with Bayern’s U-19s on March 9, getting 20 minutes in a game against Stuttgart’s U-19s. He’s getting accustomed to life in Germany, including little things like training alongside the current Bundesliga champions when the academy players come together with the first team. “You’ve kind of just got to act cool. You can’t be a fan boy in the locker room or anything, but inside you’re starstruck,” Booth said. “It’s the best players in the world, and you’re training with them, so it’s crazy.”
Snip: So far, Booth is enjoying his new life in Germany. On his off days, he spends lots of time at the Hard Rock Cafe because its American atmosphere reminds him of home, he said. https://www.sltrib.com/sports/rsl/2019/04/03/once-with-real-salt-lake/
