Both potential USWNT members, Lindsay Tarpley and Heather O'Reilly, scored a goal in the first half against University of Maryland this afternoon.

Most importantly for the 2004 Olympics, Heather was running very well. Her goal came on her exploding to the goal with tremendous speed to cut in front of MD defender to redirect the ball into the goal. I was happy to see her running so well. She played less than 30 minutes in the first half.

Tarpley was steady and dangerous. She played 35 minutes.

UNC is too deep, too fast and too skillfull for my beloved Terps.

Won't be able to file a 2nd half report until later.

MODs. I think this is directly related to USWNT - please don't move to the college area.

Thanks for the update -- good news on O'Reilly's return! :)

I kept thinking during the Norway game how nice it would have been to bring on the speedy O'Reilly in the second half. Milbrett just doesn't have the wheels right now.

    Here's a question:
Assuming O'Reilly had been healthy, do you think April would have called her in -- and if so, in place of whom?
