Never really played well for any length of time here, hopefully he can rescue his flailing career.

According to the BBC World report today, the Home Office have been asked to intervene, mainly because Iran have only just started to play again in world football, not having had the chance before, for obvious reasons. Iran is currently ranked 71st, so had they been an established world team, the ranking could've been higher at the time of our transfer request. It's not over, thank goodness. Let's hope commonsense prevails.

If Defoe goes to Portsmouth, It is certain that we will get Benjani i reckon which at least means we have a very capable striker.

Couldn't help think that i would prefer Defoe though ..

We have also confirmed Roberto Mancini's son Filipio Mancini on loan, he is a winger/striker but i can't figure out which side. If he is a right winger .. that could be great if he is any decent.

The Caciedo deal is close to going through, numerous sitings of him at Eastlands doing a physical ... Is highly rated by a number of big clubs including Inter and Juventus of Italy .. Would be a good get if the reports are true.

    Bloody hell.

Thirty minutes after the transfer window officially closes, confirmation of City's deal with FC Basle over Cacieda. Three and a half year deal, and a $5,000,000 Pound transfer fee.

Still .. If Sven is worried about Sturridge holding up .. Cacieda isn't that much older. Only 19.

No word on the Defoe to Spurs, Benjani to City trade yet ..

Its finally official on BBC. We have Caicedo. I sure hope we pull in Benjani to go with these two EXTREMELY promising youngsters. We need a force up front this year to help Elano, Petrov, and Sturridge. Vassell needs to be a super-sub like Odonkor on the Germany MNT.

0033: BREAKING NEWS - MANCHESTER CITY in
We can now officially confirm that 19-year-old Ecuadorian striker Felipe Caicedo has joined the Sven-Goran Eriksson revolution for a fee of about £5m.

Inter Milano loaned Filippo Mancini (Roberto's son) 17 yrs old to Mancity. Very odd news to be honest, unless Sven is doing his dear old friend Mancio a favor by taking his son now under his wing after taking the father himself and mentor him upon their time together in Lazio.

Sadly for Mancity Filippo is no Balotelli but lets not prematurely judge a player who only played 10 minutes of an official game in his debut with Inter.

At last, we have some height in the box! :D Let's hope he's a strong player and has the ability to go through defences like a hot knife through butter. A few practice matches against Dunne and Richards will give him a taste of things to come. Can't wait to see our new forwards and strikers linking-up together. I hope SGE adopts a 4-4-2, it'll give our opponent something to think about, no more lone strikers. Shame it won't happen for the match tomorrow!

    Come on City

City need someone who can finish not just Elano. Benjani is in form and although he is not a top striker, he is a better option than any other striker City have at the moment.
