Tessmann makes a fantastic jumping tackle and jumped back up to keep hold of possession. A few minutes later, he creates a chance with a nice ball floated over the backline to Tolisso.
Goal OL, TT not directly involved. Lyon have just been dominating. There were a lot of appeals for offside, so we'll see if it all stands.
Goal ruled offside, match is still at 0-0. Barely 30 seconds later, Lyon recover the ball, get it into the box, and win a penalty.
Okay, so the pen goes to VAR, and they rule that it WAS a foul, but it was outside of the box, so its downgraded to a FK. lol
Users on Twitter are singing Tessmann's praises in both french and turkish. I agree that he's been very good (and had some impressive one-touch passes to keep possession), but I will also add that Besiktas have been completely outclassed by Lyon through the first 35'
Halftime 0-0, but Lyon will feel EXTREMELY unlucky to not be up. They kept Bestikas pinned deep in their own half for most of the match. TT has been very good. 3 tackles, 1 interception, 30/32 completed passes, and credited with 2 key passes. 3/5 on his duels, but he hasn't had any aerial duels because Bestikas have sent most of their long balls down the wings. As I stated above, the reviews from French fans on Twitter have been very positive.
Solid first half. One really nice no look flick just outside their box to start a quick counter. only one time where he had his pocket picked with the ball in the center. Everything else has been sharp
2nd half is picking up where the 1st left off... Lyon have been denied a goal by a couple of good GK saves, a goal line clearance, and the crossbar in the first 10 minutes of the 2nd half.
Tessmann gets a pass at the top of the box, his control pops the ball up, and he turns and fires on the half-volley. Saved by the GK, but it was a nice looking effort.
lol have it on the background while answering emails, and Bestikas went up 0-1 in the 72'. A bad turnover in the midfield results in a perfect counterattack by Gedson, who puts it away.
Tessmann starting again in the Europa League vs Hoffenheim. Hoping for a repeat performance with a different match outcome
Tessmann has been very involved in the first 5'. Mostly good, but at least one concerning giveaway deep in OL's half that resulted in them conceding a corner.
That's the third time Tessmann has gone down after contact with no call. Not sure any of them actually was a foul, but that's been the weak spot for him today.
