No, let's keep it going, w/ a thread title of: "The Half-Space Merchant of Venice: Tanner Tessmann at Venezia"...
Confirmation of a trip to Italy: Trying again as the typo bandit strikes. Can confirm reports that Tanner Tessmann is headed to Italy tomorrow to complete a medical and finalize an agreement. I'm told it may be a week or so until agreement is formalized, but his move to @VeneziaFC_EN is very much on track. #DTID https://t.co/jmNAOfGKnn— Jeff Carlisle (@JeffreyCarlisle) July 9, 2021
Just being proactive. So here you go….. PRESEASON: Our preparations for the 2021/22 @SerieA season will shift to the Netherlands from July 28 to August 6, with friendlies against FC Utrecht (31st), FC Twente (3rd), and FC Groningen (6th).#ArancioNeroVerde 🟠⚫️🟢 pic.twitter.com/9hIE3CHa8q— Venezia FC (@VeneziaFC_EN) July 9, 2021
This site says Tessmann is at Venezia's training camp right now and should formalize his agreement with the club within the next few hours.
Taking a first crack at this one: Italian Opening: Tanner Tessmann @ Venezia FC Italian Game: Tanner Tessmann @ Venezia FC Italian Gambit: Tanner Tessmann @ Venezia FC Gondola but not Forgotten: Tanner Tessmann @ Venezia FC Gondola with the Wind: Tanner Tessmann @ Venezia FC Winged Lion: Tanner Tessmann @ Venezia FC Legend of the Lagunari: Tanner Tessmann @ Venezia FC Under the Crossbar: Tanner Tessmann @ Venezia FC Are you Serie US? And Gazetta dello Sport is saying they've reached an agreement for a 4 year deal, though it sounds like they still have to put pen to paper.
Done deal! Tanner #Tessmann (born in 2001) to #Venezia from #FCDallas. He has signed a contract until 2025. Official announcement is coming... #transfers #MLS— Nicolò Schira (@NicoSchira) July 15, 2021

Good for him. Sounds like a lot of fun. I'm skeptical its going to work out but still, there are worse ways to live life.
More than likely questions about the team than anything. But Venezia has ambition and I see no reason they cannot develop into a Sassoulo level team
Fair enough. I apologize for the assumption as I'm used to a lot of people not rating many Serie A teams. But to each their own on Tessman. From what ive seen of him I think he has potential for sure but won't claim to be super knowledgeable of him. But I will continue to say with the young talent coming in the MLS as well as the cheap prices for most of the players I would not be shocked if Italian teams start sniffing around MLS more
One more note on the Tanner Tessmann transfer: FC Dallas will receive $4.1m up front (€3.5m) from Venezia FC plus incentives for Tessmann, per a source. The deal includes FCD retaining a sell-on %— Tom Bogert (@tombogert) July 15, 2021
It will be tough for Italian teams to acquire Americans as long as Italy has restrictions on the amount of non-EU players allowed in their squads. It will always be more likely American players with EU passports will go. Then you have the somewhat odd cases of American owned teams like Venezia/Spezia sniffing around young Americans. I'm not sure what to make of that yet.
