Indeed. Particular nice at top of opponent's box and some nice long passes under pressure too. Like he is channeling Joe Scally or something. Bravo to Tanner and hope this can continue. Man if this kid comes good, we owe this coach big-time. How many foreign coaches would give a kid with this pedigree such a shot in a top league?
Shocked and happy with regards to TT’s playing time so far. If he can continue getting these minutes and Venezia stay up it would be a huge story. Seems that MLS academies can send players over now with a real chance to compete, instead of the dear in the headlights look of a decade ago. Kudos. Now if we can only end the All Touches vendetta. I get a Sonny Corleone vibe on one end.
Another thing I noticed in that video....his spatial awareness was really, really good. He would turn with the ball, not blindly, but knew already what he would be facing. In some cases, he had already anticipated the next play as he turned (that great long ball, played on the quick). Mentally, he was at Serie A level in this last game. Not chasing it. Big, important step. I didn't see that before, he seemed always too slow mentally in many highlights in previous games and his reactions seemed panicky.
I never understood the "Tattaligia's a pimp" line quite honestly. I knew it meant Barzini was pulling the strings, but why "a pimp"?
I’ll add to that. It goes hand-in-hand with seeing the spacial awareness but I noticed Tessmann with that head on a swivel, checking his shoulder and scanning every time he was in vicinity of the ball. You’ll notice with inexperienced players or players lacking in confidence, that they have tunnel vision. They just tend to see what’s in front of them. That derives from the fear of making a mistake. Tessman, up until the last few weeks, has certainly fell victim to tunnel vision and fear of mistakes. You are starting to see that confidence build which in-turn creates trust from his manager and teammates. It’s a slow and patient process with Tessmann. I’d rather see the slow build with him as opposed to quick success followed by regression or a big dip in form. It’s literally one step at a time. Personally speaking, I had low expectations for him this season. So anything above what he’s currently showing is icing on the cake. Call me pleasantly surprised. This is player growth in the right way.
Because he was in actuality a pimp. His family's main crime interest was in prostitution. Vito was also saying that a pimp wouldn't have the balls to come after him and his organization.
A clue, perhaps? "Something to watch for — with Vacca out, Tessmann could get the start tonight. The young American’s game has been growing by leaps and bounds with each appearance. The Inter match was arguably his best yet." Yes, there he is, the man in the middle.
This coach is amazing.....love him to death....gives our boys real chances to shine. The movie 'The Education of Mr. Tanner Tessmann' continues today in its 38 part series.
Seriously the number of "youngish" coaches in big 5 leagues who would trust young guys like Busio and Tessmann are pretty rare. Especially in a relegation dogfight. Soccer has become a young man's game because of the press and covid financial difficulties and yet it's still hard to find quality coaches who can get the best out of and trust younger players. Zanetti deserves all the respect.
Tessmann went the distance in a 4-0 defeat. Five games before the break, four of them at home: Sun 12/5 v Verona Sat 12/11 v Juventus Tue 12/14 v Ternana (Coppa Italia) Sun 12/19 @ Sampdoria Wed 12/22 v Lazio The last four are bunched nicely for our purposes.
Nice chance to catch up with Busio today ... Substitutes: Lezzerini, Svoboda, Haps, Ebuehi, Schnegg, Tessmann, Busio, Heymans, Peretz, Bjarkason, Johnsen
Well, when your job depends on it it’s tough. It’s easy for us here of corse. This team doesn’t feel like a usual type promoted side also. Feels like there is a long term plan, whether they stay up or down, and they are going to stick with it. Here’s hoping that is true, and our guys keep growing. Not shocked with Busio on the bench. He has played a lot. Won’t stay there long. TT. Lets’ see. Way ahead of where I thought he would be already. Fingers crossed. Success for these two can have large implications for Yanks across Serie A. Most teams/organizations are notorious followers. Could lead to a lot more confidence from mid to lower sides picking p more of or guys.
