Tamir Cohen has agreed to a three and half year deal at Bolton Wanderers, and will join them as soon as the January transfer window opens. The 24 year old holding midfielder has been a star on Maccabi Netanya and has been very impressive with the Israeli NT.

Didn't Tal Ben-Haim have to have a trial when he wanted to join Bolton Wanderers F.C.? I find it hard to believe that Tamir Cohen would be allowed to join without a trial.

No he isn't having a trial, it is different then Ben-Haim. Tamir Cohen holds an Italian passport so he doesn't need a work permit, so this is a very small expense for Bolton. They don't really have anything to lose in signing him.

Only about $1.5 million as has been written in the Israeli press reports as his contract value.

Good for Tamir. Hadn't heard anything or seen this on Sky Sports News over here, sure he will be mentioned soon. Tamir and Avi were covered alot by the British press to the Israel v Russia buildup.

This is great news. As I have said before, we need as many players in England as possible. Hopefully he could develop in England and come up big for the national team later.
