Has anyone checked out United's promotions for tickets next season. If not, check this out. If you order 20 premium seats for $340 ($17 per ticket) for the season opener on April 3, you'll receive a new 2004/2005 DC United Home Jersey ($70 value) free. If I hadn't already purchased my season tickets for next season, I may have done this deal instead. Only, I'd only use one ticket and trade in the rest of the tickets for seats in the Barra for the rest of the games. Although I wouldn't have the Special A, B, and C tickets, I would get a new jersey out of it. Of course, if somehow we managed to sell out the lower bowl for our opener, then I would hate to be the one person that left a group of 20 seats open... but if I asked to be on the quiet side, no one watching at home would notice. But, alas... I have bought my season tickets and will be purchasing a new United Jersey none-the-less (which by-the-way, is growing on me considerably. I'm not a huge fan of the shoulder stripes, but I do think it looks better than the current jerseys.) However, I do fear that our home shorts will be similar to the away shorts (with the red between the legs).
I saw it, but couldn't believe my eyes. Here it is Christmas, the DC United store is so lame it needs a wheelchair AND crutches, and they're pitching a deal to get a new home kit (with a picture to boot)!! Here's an idea: Update your freakin' website, put the kits on the market so fans who have been waiting since last year can get one and let's start acting like a professional organization!!! Sorry to rant T, but this sold-out jersey deal is crusting my gig...and then to see them FOR THE FIRST TIME ANYWHERE showing the new home kit in an add for tickets! (I'm pretty sure this is the first official thing I've seen with it, although I have seen unofficial pictures.)
Do you think those 20 tickets would be exchangeable for other game dates? Can you do that with your basic Ticketmaster-type ticket?
Hell, this is what I did all last season. For most of the season, I traded in my 1/2 season tickets in Section 205 for seats in the Barra. Then I would take advantage of the United for DC's buy 1 get 1 free deals and spread out those tickets over home games. I also got several tickets from my firm from playing in a Summer Shoot-out tournament that I also traded in over the season. DC United is great at putting out these deals that can get you (and friends) into the games for very cheap.
