As most of you know, I am a Chicago Fire Fan 1st & a Colorado Rapids fan 2nd. As a Fire fan, I, like many others, received this message from Fire GM Peter Wilt. Enclosed is a copy: "A Letter from Fire GM Peter Wilt Dear Fire Fans, We set out this season to win one more game than we did in 2003. We did not do that. We did not provide you with a winner and we were one of only two teams that did not even make the playoffs. In short, we failed you. Like you, we have expectations that the Fire will compete for two trophies every year. While we made it to overtime in the final of the U.S. Open Cup this year, we let you and ourselves down with our MLS regular season results. There are plenty of reasons for the poor results, none of which excuse us. We have won as a group in the past and this year we lost as a group. We will review the performances of everyone in the organization, including the coaching staff, the players, the team staff and me." No nonsense, no excuses, no BS. It is obvious why the Fire are a great organization. Hopefully, KSE will step up!
Damn that's awesome. No wonder Chicago gets such amazing support. Fans love open communication with their team.
Don't see what the big deal is. I mean, we just had our Front Office explain in great detail a situation involving a fan and a prohibited item. (seriously, can you imagine Dan Counce or Charlie Wright sending a letter like Wilt's to the fans?)
No I can't imagine getting a letter like this from the Rapids. If I could, I'd have seen one last year and the year before that. Maybe we can get Dave Sarachan here in CO after the Fire cut him loose and Hanki runs off.
