Nothing is mentioned about money changing hands. If it is not a straight barter trade (radio coverage for corporate sponsor status), then who is the giver and who is the taker? In other words, is the NHL receiving money, or are they paying?
Re: Re: Taking a lesson from the NHL Sounds like a barter to me. NHL gets a sponsor, Sirius gets something that might entice subscribers. Nothing I read talks about money. There is also a daily 2-hour NHL talk show according to some reports.
I wonder if MLS can work something to have equally annoying ads run during NHL games pimping "Opening Week" for the MLS next spring. I mean, I know it's the new trend in advertising, but the NHL ads during the WWC are freakin' obnoxious. On-Topic? What's that?
Dude, I'm still scarred from the Sunday Night Football ads that ran nonstop during '98 World Cup. On a related note, I spent $47.85 on groceries just now, and am enjoying a sligthly warm beer while I watch the AFL Grand Final for the 8th time on FSW. When is Gazza coming to MLS?
