Tiger runs away with the Open and Lance in France. We're mopping up a bunch of Brits, French, Italians, Spaniards, and Germans on their own turf at their own sports. In Lance's case, with only one testicle (if he even has that), though I'm sure he's got a brass replacement.

What a bunch of has-been conquerors.

No, but they've come in here to our own turf and beat us has beens at our own sport.

But you're right, they weren't from Old Europe, so that point has no parallel whatsoever to your original post.

Although Lance Armstrong's story is an inspiring one and the domination displayed by Tiger is out of this world, there is only one sport I want to win in Europe. If by chance the US wins the World Cup next year then I'll join the chorus in heckling Europe. Until then, my lips will be sealed.

I was banned from Other Sports forum until the end of the Tour de France. So I'll post my smack here:

Cup Lance's ball Ulrich, you teutonic fag and Basso, you catalanic culero.

one of the kids i babysit would love you. He loves the tour de france, his parents got him all these videos of past ones and that's all he ever watches while he tries to explain to me what's going on, i've yet to be really excited about it.

    Dear Monop_poly,

No one in old Europe (unless you want to count the Brits), gives a rats ass about golf. However, I do believe we beat your sorry asses in your backyard last year in something called the Ryder cup. Not that I give a ******** about that turd of a golfing competition.

Now on to Lance: I actually enjoy watching and following the guy. He is one of cycling alltime greats. I doubt you'll find more avid Lance fans in Europe than you can find in Belgium. Heck, the entire entourage of the team are Belgians. The fact that he is a US citizen means nothing to me. I value him highly as a cyclist, and if he would ride another five tours after this one, I would have probably rooted for him in those as well.

I'd say Old Europe handed out a beat down last night at the Horn Depot Center.

You are such a sad cvnt.

Five minutes research turns up that in the three "US" sports played for in the Olympic games, none of the current mens' champions are actually from the US!

    Ice Hockey - Canada
    Basketball - Argentina
    Baseball - Cuba

I find this epsecially sad because most of the rest of the world couldn't give a toss about these sports.

Well it shows what you know, hockey isn't considered a "US sport". It just so happens that the most popular hockey league is in the US, but it's not a US sport.

Hockey is huge all over Canada, not just Quebec. Just as it's huge in Scandinavia and Russia. There's some discrepancy as to where it began, some say Montreal and others say Kingston or Nova Scotia.

'Old Europe'...as opposed to what exactly?

Is there a 'New Europe' somewhere that I'm missing out on?

Or am I in it right now? Scary thought, that.

I see. Thanks for the info. It's a shame what's happening RE the NHL. Used to go and watch the SJ Sharks whenever I visited a friend in the area. Was good fun to watch.

    Anyhoo.
