Paredes makes his return! Unfortunately it was in an 8-1 defeat, but the one goal scored while he was on the field wasn't his fault!
Paredes entered late (83'), but that was apparently enough to turn the match, from 1-1 into a 2-1 victory, the winning goal coming at 88'. Plus one, Paredes, something positive to build on.
Great to see Parades back! He's always seems to get inserted right into the mix upon recovery from his many injuries. That's a testament to his abilities and trust not rarely seen with Yanks. Nice little active cameo based on stats..... 10 touches 7/8 passing 4 passes into final third 1 recovery 1/1 ground duels won
Their and the Bundisliga's current record for a season is 91 points. They're currently on pace for 105. Even by their own lofty standards this has been a bloodbath of a season so far
Their average result is a 3-goal win. They’re on pace to beat the goal difference record (+80 in 2012-13) by 26.
hes a good player that isnt as recognized in the us player pool as he should be due to numerous injury layoffs
Poor guy. His injury history is pretty similar to Reyna's. Just hard for either to stay healthy. It does seem many start staying healthier as they get into their mid 20's so he does have a chance to turn it around.
Paredes comes in off the bench at HT, at LB, Wolfsburg trailing Heidenheim 0-1. Edit: Paredes with a YC at 68' Edit2: Wolfsburg draws level at 1-1, at 80', pushing for a winner.
Quick squad updates from Daniel Bauer ahead of tomorrow's match against @fckoeln_en ⬇️"Konstantinos Koulierakis has returned to team training, Kevin Paredes is also back in full swing, Adam Daghim was a bit under the weather but is back with us too. Additionally, Max Arnold is… pic.twitter.com/8S1xcAHVuy— VfL Wolfsburg EN/US 🇬🇧 🇺🇸 (@VfLWolfsburg_EN) January 29, 2026 Not in the squad today. This update seems to imply he’s been ill?
I have to tune into this one... I have not watched Paredes since his return from injury and Mathis Albert could make his debut for BVB.
I didn’t see a PBP thread, so I created one. Hopefully he stays healthy and this one is active for a while! https://www.bigsoccer.com/threads/kevin-paredes-all-games-pbp-thread.2137829/
I am glad I tuned in. I thought Paredes played well. Very active on O and D... could have had two assists. One on a long slip pass and another on a whipped cross. Also had some nice dribbling sequences. Nice to see him back on the pitch. There are so few YA wingers of any note.
Thanks for the update! I watched the game, but was a bit tuned out for parts. I must have missed the long slip pass. I probably downplayed his impact too much. I agree that he was positive all around. He might be our best left footed winger.
There's pretty much no one else in contention for this honor. Indiana Vassilev? Peyton Miller? If you exclude Max Arfsten (who's exclusively played LB/LWB for the USMNT), there's pretty much no one anywhere close to the national team. A far cry from our mid-2000s heyday when we had DaMarcus Beasley, Eddie Lewis, and prime Bobby Convey.
