    "Hamburg - The first appearance of Japan international Naohiro Takahara on the HSV training ground in Norderstedt was both a media event and a very self-confident appearance of this young player.

    After training we used the opportunity to conduct an interview with Naohiro Takahara.

    +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

    hsv.de: Mr Takahara, what is your first impression after the practice session?

    Takahara: "It was very cold this morning (minus 6 degrees centigrade). When I left Japan we had 10 degrees. Unfortunately, the ground was in rather poor shape (the pitch heating did not work, eds.) It was my first time ever to practice under such conditions. And I enjoyed it very much."

    hsv.de: Well, that was obvious. You were rather generous when it came to scoring goals...

    Takahara: "That's correct. It was excellent today. It could continue like that. I feel very good and I think I am in excellent physical shape."

    hsv.de: How did the HSV players welcome you today?

    Takahara: "Very, very good. They were all extremely friendly. I even talked to some of them in English."

    hsv.de: Did you know any of the HSV players beforehand?

    Takahara: "Yes, I knew Sergej Barbarez and Bernardo Romeo. I also watched some of the HSV matches on video recently."

    hsv.de: How are you going to spend the next couple of days when there will be no training?

    Takahara: "I am going to go sightseeing with my advisor and interpreter and have a look at the Christmas market to get to know the city a little better. Most of my time here is spent in the hotel though."

    hsv.de: Thank you very much and good luck for the future."

    Takahara is supposed to join HSV in Febuary of next year...
