They don't pose a threat to the Egyptian regime. Of the about 70 million Egyptians the Sinai people are about 1 million and mostly the Bedouin part is rebellious, so more linked to the Jordan people than Egypt. The non-bedouin part is imported from Egypt and not likely to be part of the rebels overthere. They're not going to overthrow the regime.
