Anna Wintour, editor of Vogue. who put out some blather about her being “extremely thin and very well-dressed, and therefore qualified to be in Vogue.” The Obamas jumping to attend her events and then gurning with her was the first sign that he was too shallow to amount to much.
Visual proof: HTS fighters driving in circles around the clock tower on Homs central square. 1865502221149864373 is not a valid tweet id
I wasn't far out either. 1865529804440662160 is not a valid tweet id Edit: Damascus Intl. airport has been taken already. Unclear by who, but it's clear they don't like Assad
Langley, GCHQ, MI5 & MI6, the DGSE and Mossad in the moments before getting down to work on all those Syrian intel files
It's done. Syrian State TV currently broadcasting a statement that Assad has left Damascus 1865579030021365833 is not a valid tweet id
Patience, dear boy, patience! There's a plane in the air at the moment which left Damascus an hour ago circling over Homs with over 45,000 people following it on Flight Tracker. It's already spent a ridiculous amount of time in the air if Latakia is the destination. Allegedly it could have done a round trip already. Entirely possible that it's trying to get permission to fly to the UAE, Tehran, etc. and been refused 1865585058054094898 is not a valid tweet id
Saydnaya Prison, the hellpit where Assad put anyone he didn't like to be tortured and then eventually killed, as been liberated and the prisoners freed.
Take this with a great deal of caution but respected OSINTer Nathan Ruser has posted the following and it looks as if Assad may have be Prigozhined. I'm listening to a livestream by some former special forces people and they are coming to the same conclusion, most likely due to a MANPAD hit. Again, caution is in order. 1865591119268184265 is not a valid tweet id
There's one event that has Putin waking up in a cold sweat even today, and that's what happened to Gaddafi. The (seeming) death of Assad - someone much closer to him personally and politically, someone he literally saw a few days ago - is going to have a big impact on him.
Well that was fast "President Bashar al-Assad has resigned and left Syria, Russia’s Foreign Ministry said on Sunday. It’s a stunning fall for the longtime dictator that ushered in hope and uncertainty after rebels opposed to his rule stormed across the country in a lightning offensive. Follow live updates." https://www.threads.net/@washington...QGz_OYAYK6Zs8_ERd0Fz-nLPka6G139CRHhP_QbEqN5vQ
The speed with which the Syrian regime collapsed would have meant a huge commitment by Iran and Russia to preserve something, that in the end was not sustainable. I guess they did not have the stomach for it, especially Russia that is already bogged down in Ukraine. Off course they already have spent huge treasury and military/material support to sustain the regime up to this point, but I guess they thought it would be better to cut the losses. And in terms of loss, its a huge strategic loss for Iran and its proxy network.
Social Media is great. So a Palestinian account celebrates the fall of Assad. To some lefty Western, this most mean that that account now supports Western imperialism, because this whole thing has to be a CIA operation, no other possible explanation exists, the 'America bad' crowd can't admit that sometimes shit is not about us. https://bsky.app/profile/postleftwatch.bsky.social/post/3lcrmj7x25226
If Assad is still alive, his options boil down to Moscow, Tehran or a Quincy Institute fellowship. Then Tulsi can offer him an advisory role, bringing "the spirit of aloha" to the planet. Worthless twats of the world unite!
