Good article. I can see where he still chuckles over chucking the chair - there's many a time I'd like to do that to local baseball teams myself. But for some reason, the crack they've slipped to politicians gives them an unreasonable amount of leverage.

    SkyChiefs vs the World

Good articles. Never given much thought as to who pays for door handles and toilet paper at a stadium. Just glad that they're both there.

Is there any place for the soccer team to play if they can't get into P&C?

Unfortunately, the other options are much worse.
Syracuse University plays at Coyne Field. It is a small field and has only a couple of hundred bleacher seats. Unlike most of the Big East schools (Notre Dame, UConn, St. John's,) SU has never made an effort to field a big-time team.

Other options - local high schools and such with bleacher seats. Play temporarily @ Cornell's Schoellkopf (sp) Stadium in nearby Ithaca. Capacity is over 20,000. I don't think it offers much in terms of comfort or concessions. It's artificial turf, IIRC. You'd think an Ivy League school would have the money to maintain natural surface!

    Those are good links

I forgot that they've renamed Coyne the Lampe Athletic Complex, after a big donor to the University.

Here's a link to the overall complex on the South Campus (about 1/2 mile from the main quad)
    http://www.suathletics.com/sports/gen/2001/lampe.asp

To the bottom left is Manley Field house. The former home of the Orangmen basketball team before the Carrier Dome replace Archibold Stadium in 1980. It is the circular building and it seats about 10,000. The outbuildings are new facilities for the Athletic Department: weight rooms, football offices, etc. The center bottom is the parking lot. It is a choke point for traffic, but it should be fine. To the right of that is the actual soccer field. The university claims a full 75yards by 120 yards, but I'd question that. The other surfaces are a track ring, an artificial turf carpet (to similate the Carrier Dome floor) a couple of grass fields to practice on real grass for football and lacrosse.
