It's an attack-minded team. I'm listening to Radio 1, so I'll be here. I will try and post updates, but no guarentees.
Off to the Playwright in Stamford. Hopefully I wont have to drown my sorrows!
5 Murat Yakin
10 Hakan Yakin
On the bench for Ireland:
Yakin has scored for the Swiss.
And Georgia are 1-0 up
Russia are 2-1 up HT.
Ireland are 1-0 down to the Swiss.
As it stands, we're out.
Switzerland 2 - 0 Ireland
That was one of the worst displays I have seen from an Irish team in years.
Let's face it the Swiss are no world beaters. but good luck to them. they will probably improve by the time the tournement comes around.
Ireland seemed to lack spirit. there were some woeful individual performances too.
O' Shea was dreadful. our centre midfield was nowhere near the pace of the game. Robbie and connolly didn't get much service and what they did get they didn't use very well.
I think connolly doesn't link up very well, although he did show quite well and kept possession ok in the first half. ireland seemed resigned to defeat once the second goal went in.
God how we miss Roy Keane !!!
damn you guys, we wanted to see you here in portugal...
good luck to the future.
How could Ireland lose to Switzerland? Did we miss the bus? Were we paralyzed by a Swiss laser gun??
There is NO WAY on GOD's GREEN Earth, IRELAND should lose and get their ARSE handed to them by the bloody SWISS!!! Damn I need a pint of Guinness!
