The reasons why I regard Robbie as world class are based on his performances for Ireland over the past 5 years where he has consistantly played excellently and scored goals against the world's top teams. Robbie had a fantastic world cup finals tournament in Japan and Korea and his performances there, on the worlds biggest stage, certainly merit the label 'world class'. His club form is certainly not world class as he is very inconsistant but that, I believe, is mainly down to his inability to settle at one particular club. He has always shown flashes of sublime excellence wherever he has played and I foresee an excellent season ahead alongside Jermain Defoe.
IMO all those leagues are weaker then the EPL with the expection of Spain. The French league seems to be improving however, we'll see how their clubs do in europe this year.
I felt Ireland really struggled against the Swiss and objectively we were lucky to come away with a point. Whether they are a better side than us , well the last 3 results and performances suggest so , but at the same time I think the same Irish team PLAYING WELL can beat this Swiss side in Dublin.Ireland played below par and got a point , the Swiss bossed it but still only got a point.Can Ireland dominate them in Dublin? But in the broad scheme of things the Swiss were destroyed by England , lost to a poor , out of form French team and drew with the Croats at the Euros , so at the top end of the game theyre a weak side , but what does that make our side who have really struggled against them in the last three outings.
