Okay, this is BAD. I've been playing as a left-back for about 2 years now and I might have to be trained as a GK next time :( My club currently lacks a goalkeeper and the current one needs a replacement as he is very much injury prone. So, he plans to train me up as a keeper cause I'm tall and have long hands :p So, should go ahead and get trained as a GK or what? I'm confused!

I'd say DO IT, a good player is flexible and can play any position at any time. I play attacking mid, and there was a couple times last year where our goalie was absent and had to step in betweent he pipes. If u choose to play goalie, i wish u the best of luck, and hope that u have a good defence.

Goalkeepers are always in demand, so if you get the training you can always be there as a backup even if you're primarily a field player. It's definitely something a coach might consider when selecting a team.

If you decide to go for it, check out my goalkeeper coaching site, JB Goalkeeping. Lots of info there on technique, tactics and more. And pass the URL along to your coach, too.

Oh ya... I just realized that I'm the only Left-back they have on the team. :(
