The Swedish preseason is underway, and so far, some 50 preseason games have been played with teams from the Swedish Premier League (Allsvenskan). The newcomers Enköpings SK and Östers IF has confirmed that they will have a very hard time to grab on to their first division contracts after poor performances in their initial matches. Malmö, Djurgården, AIK and Helsingborg have all started off in good fashion and will probably be the contenders for the goldmedal later this year. I also believe Örgryte will be among the top 4 or 5 teams, even though they have started off very poorly. Follow the swedish preseason at www.exilgnagare.com. Follow the links football and then "försäsong 2003".
Cafe Opera I have been trying for a while to find out about Cafe Opera, but after logging on to thier website I find it is only in Swedish (understandably).Could you tell me anything about them? and are there any English speaking websites where I could get any more information or buy merchandise?
Hej nebo, When does the actual season start? I'm planning on being in sverige from the 12th to 15th of April and hoping to catch a game, tak.

Re: Cafe Opera a stockholm side. i believe they originally formed as a pub team. there is a cafe opera restaraunt, which i have been by. theyre pretty small so i doubt youre going to find many english sites about them, or merch. why dont you just follow your heart and support a wonderful side, such as Djurgårdens... theyre JUST down the road... (well, and a few tube stops up)
Re: Re: Cafe Opera Djurgården is an evil club. Their supporters are evil, their players are evil, their managers are evil... They represent the dark side. Support AIK instead they are the light at the end of the tunnel. A glimpse of hope... GO GNAGET!!
Re: Re: Re: Cafe Opera Vico.... If you live in Stockholm, you should support one of the two team that are IN stockholm.... Djurgår'n and Hammarby. Super DIF!
Re: Re: Re: Re: Cafe Opera I was born and raised in Norrort! Three subwaystations from the mighty Råsunda Arena...
Re: Cafe Opera Well maybe you aren't familiar with Stockholm but actually Kista (were I live) belongs to the Stockholm community. I know that Solna doesn't but actually Kista does... Don't be a snob not everyone has the money to get an apartment in the richer central parts and especially not Östermalm were I suspect that a Djurgården fanatic as you comes from...
Café Opera is the "reserve" team of AIK sthlm. you simply must go and see AIK play. greater ambiance is impossible to find in any Swedish, or indeed Scandinavian, club. check out the pictures on aikbilder.com or aiktifo.com or go and see the videoclips on www.exilgnagare.com. Clips from the current season are under the "Fotball" heading (once there you need to click "Spelschema" and then on the respective results, to see which films are available from each match). Clips from past seasons are available under "Bilder", where you then have to click on "AIK-filmer". Enjoy!
Thanks a lot, nebo! Your help in navigating these sites is great -- though I lived with a family in Sweden briefly, I didn't learn too much of the language. The Swedes are too proficient at English!! Your site is great!
