Obviously we have all know we are hurting up front. Someone on bigsoccer (not sure which thread) said that we don't have a scorer now like we had when Borgetti was scoring goals for us. He wasn't great on with his feet, but we could get balls in the box and let him do his thing. We don't have anyone that Sven has called in for any camp anywhere near the charateristics of Jared, the only one available to be called up is DeNigris. I've never been a fan of him, but if he is going to get playing time in Turkey again, lets bring him in and see what he can do for us up top. He's scoring goals when he gets PT in Turkey and while I know that it isn't the best league, they have strong, physical players, so he is at least used to playing against bigger stronger opponets which would be a big plus.

Other than a more disciplined Mexico, results might be lacking. But, one thing we can all agree on is that Sven attends plenty of games in person and is trying hard.

Sven gets a 9 out of 10 for effort.

...but for some it may not be enough.

Vergara better be up sven's ass. He was the one who brought him in. I find deplorable that Mexico won't be sanctioning Paco Ramirez. Saying I am sorry publicly was enough for them. That guy should be sent packing, and what he did after the game in Columbus was a very justifiable reason.

I still do not how Paco Ramirez got to be assistant coach? He has zero credentials.

Who needs credentials when you have friends in the right places? How else could you explain el Campos with the NT, or as an announcer for that matter.
I think the same thing applies to Ramirez.

There existed a huge void before Sven got here. There was a great hallowness when the subject of "el Tri" came up.

While many might be tempted to argue that the team showed some signs of turning the corner with Hugo, the team collapsed due to his overly ambitious personal agenda. He had no business in my opinion coaching the Olympic squad. Among other things, it took his focus from where it should have been with the national selection.

Sven has made some curious call-ups and questionable decisions I believe at heart he wants to succeed. I also think he has a good opinion of Mexican soccer. I doubt that a man of his coaching reputation would have taken the job regardless of the money if he didn't believe he could win. It was after all his reputation to tarnish wasn't it?

Against the US, Mexico sent many long balls, the most I have ever seen in a single match. This was a departure from Sven's promise of few touches, fast, vertical play. If there is a percieved strength to Mexican football it is I believe their ball handling and play making ability.

We aren't finishing. It's that simple. It's an easy game with complications on the field at every instant. Our players aren't problem solving like they used to.

For a long time we fans have feared the worst, that we just don't have the mules to pull the wagon.

I blame no one. The team is down.

Hard work, creativity and resilience is what the teams needs, not criticism.

I hope Sven and company make it to South Africa. Once there, I hope they play up to a caliber that we can all be proud of.

Sven is the man for Mexico. No doubt about it. He's trying hard to get results. Yes, we did lose to the nads...but Mexico played pretty well besides those two errors that costs us those 2 goals.

Nery was out. We didn't have guardado and many others. On top of that, not to make an excuse, but the field was wet. That gives the nads the advantage of utilizing their speed, and athleticism on a wet pitch. And only leaves us to the long ball approach.

    In Sven I trust.

    Lets all say it...

I don't think we played well against the nads but I do think we'll be alright in time.

sven enjoys going to toluca games it seems. wonder if it's because he admires their style of play, which seems to be what he is attempting to achieve. a lot of one touches, quick direct style of play. wonder also if he has an eye on a few toluca players, besides duenas and zinha

I see it as they are the defending champions . so he wants to see how certain young players rise up to play against them and which ones choke.

I say that these should be our 3 keepers on the MNT, and give them each a couple of games to see who deserves to start.

    Ochoa
    Corona

Again, the Goalies are the least of El Tri's problems.. To the point that i wouldn't be nervous to have Corona be the starter at the World Cup.. He is that good, it's just that he plays in crappy teams..

But any of the one mentioned would be ok.
