Of course MLSnet.com is saying that LA goes for the double in the open cup not the "treble". I believe in 98 the Galaxy had the best record. This LA team is likely to be the first to ever take all 3 honors, but I don't even think this is the best LA team we've seen. 8(
No it IS the best la squad because they had the big time players to come through in a big time game, where the others, unforuantely came up short.
I'd pick the 98 Galaxy over this years. Nobody LA played in the playoffs this year was as good as Chicago and DC were in 98. LA would have won that year too if they played a weak Colorado side or any team that played Wolde Harris for 70 minutes. Also Cienfuegos and Cobi were actually dominate players then. I think the 99 Galaxy and 99 DCU were better than the two finalists this year as well.
