My wife and I are going to be in the Columbus area for the USA v. Paraguay game and I also plan to attend the Burn v. Crew game on Saturday night. Since my wife won't actually be joining me for the game, i'm looking for other Crew supporters to stand and cheer with at Saturday's game (I'll stand with Sam's Army on Sunday).

Is there a supporter's section that I can get a ticket for? Who do I contact?

    Thanks,

    Jarrett

Based on what I saw on TV saturday, a supporter section doesn't exist in Columbus

Man, oh man. Ouch. Oh, stop the madness.

With respect to the initial poster's question, I think you should contact Zak on these boards; he'll have the answer for you.

Yeah, I was wondering why the attendance was so poor on Saturday? I know it was on TV, so that may have hurt. Did the OSU spring football game hurt us that badly? Are there other reasons?

I could hear V-Army loud and clear. Thing is they don't sit in the very front row like the rest of the supporters. They also aren't covered with silly costumes to draw attention to themselves.

Who the ********* is Sam's Army?

Well guys, while you were debating the existence of the supporters group, I call the crew ticket office and they suggested I sit in the North end in section 137. That's where I'll be...thanks for the "help" :)

Saw your post too late. The guys at Crew Stadium are correct. You want to be in 137. But you can get the tickets at the V-Army tailgate the day of the game at a lower price (through a special arrangement between the Crew and V-Army). Zak has the details so wait for his posting before you proceed with getting your tickets for the match.

Thanks for your help guys but since I'm probably going to be spending several hundred dollars on the trip for me and my family, a five dollar savings on the ticket is not a big deal to me.

Now don't think I'm Mr. Moneybags over here, but I would rather have the ticket in hand before leaving on a 500 mile road trip.

I'll see you in the North End...BTW, is 137 effectively general admission?

See guys, when some dimwit "newbie" comes around with some lame crap like this, I really think it ought to be deleted as trolling, but the alternative is just to move along.

He knows nothing, IS nothing and will never BE anything except a rosy-palmed pizza-faced D&D player who won't get laid until he's 40 and saves up enough for some poxied cow with bad teeth.

You sure won't see ME paying any attention to him.

Why was the attendance so low though?

I was really looking forward to turning on the tube and seeing a game with a healthy crowd. No offense intended, was just a little bummed to see.

San Jose and Dallas had much lower attendances than us.

The OSU spring game had over 52,000 in attendance, so that had alot to do with it.

Columbus has averaged over 17,500 3 of the last 4 years, so I wouldn't worry about it.....

I hate to defend this guy but...

    1) I thought it was pretty funny
    2) 8 posts in 18 months hardly makes him Kryptonite

4PM games never draw well. The Crew tried to have it changed to earlier (1:30 - 2p) or later around 7:30PM. 4 just seems to conflict with evening and afternoon events and become an afterthought. The 4 time was for ESPN (all according to Dwight Burgess on the radio pregame show).

It's not real logical, but it's always been that way here.

I was at a soccer tournament in Louisville with most of the family. I know that we have at least three more families that have season tickets just on our team.

My son went to a friend's graduation in Michigan.

How's that work? You in Louisville for a soccer tournament? My friend who coaches a Lousiville team was in Dublin for a tournament.

Kids just love the road trips. So far we've been in Richmond, Lexington, Cincy (twice), Louisville, and have trips pending to Cincy (again) and Dayton. Hope the rest of them don't interfere with Crew soccer. Although it's fun to watch my daughter defend two breakaways successfully. She made them look like Martino (oops, sorry)!

Er, uh... um, yeah, well... you see...

Ok, busted. I know I said I was gonna go, but then I got 3 bills in the mail on Friday. I tallied them all up, compared it to my checkbook, and found out I didn't have the money to go on the road trip, and that the TV was already paid for. Sorry 3stripe, was looking forward to sharing some Amstel's during the tailgate.
