I figured that since I say that we like their stances against racism and fascism, that it sort of implies that all of the groups of the Nordecke are in the same boat. I honestly don't believe that we need to explain the name of HSH to them...unless they ask about it. I'll see if there are more suggestions and if not or everyone likes it, I'll send it this evening. Thanks!!!
I liked it, and like I said previously, I think that they'd be pretty open to the idea. I mean it's not like it is going to cost either group a ton of money or anything.
Writing a letter by committee, like trying to heard cats. It reads fine to me, I say send it. Personally, I think this is a great idea. Like HHM said what's the worse that can happen, they say no thanks.
Maybe *Latin America* instead of South America... Just a suggestion but the rest is excellent.. Go CREW! Frankie scores one tonight.
Ok...I corrected the South American thing and changed it to Latin America. The e-mail has been sent to Ultra' Sankt Pauli. I included both the German and English versions of the offer as well as links to Crewture, CSU, and HSH. I will let you know when I have a response and I will post it here.
http://www.soccertimes.com/americans/2008/jul27a could be interesting if he goes to FCSP...all the more reason to like a club from an American perspective
I think we might need to align ourselves with Chuck's Crew the FBK Kaunas supporters group. (Click for larger image) I know nothing about Kaunas or their supporters but they helped rid European football of Scotland's Shame so they are A-ok in my book! Chuck Norris can kill two stones with one bird!
Tell all the Huns you know! Aberdeen is as far as you go! they won't need their shades, their buckets or spades, just sledges to play in the snow!!! Why not go with an anti-Hunnery alliance. Us, St Pauli, and Kaunas! I'd suggest Zenit St Petersberg but we don't want MLS Rumors talking...
No...I don't have a reply yet. I think that I might send them another e-mail and give them until the weekend or so for a response. They've had the information for almost two weeks now. I say if we don't get a response of any sort by Sunday, we move on, and look for another club.
I say rather than just writing and hoping for a response we work with the people we have in place. Postmanjack lives in Scunthorpe from my understanding, Now I don't know if he's a big fan of the Iron's but if he knows people in the supporters over there we'd have a better "in" than just an E-mail. Also I know a guy who's a fellow OUer and member of the Green Army in cleveland if people are up for that I could talk to him about working something out. Any other crew fans who are living abroad or in USL cities would be good canidates to help get this sorta thing off the ground and rolling. Also it seems like it's been somewhat agreed upon, but I think we should stay away from Topflight teams and befriend lower league clubs.
I'm voting for the Cleveland city stars! It would be great to gain some support from Cleveland (look at the Browns fans). In addition we could travel there and support there team. I don't know about all everyone else but I don't have any money to go over seas. But I can afford $30 bucks in gas to go to Cleveland. Support Local!
Yeah...I never got a response from Ultra' Sankt Pauli. I'm all in favour of alligning ourselves with a USL club, but I'm also thinking international as well. I'm wondering if we should change our process for doing this too. I think that by having personal interaction with another club would help something like this. I'll be in Europe for the duration for the 2009-2010 school year in either Berlin, Cologne, Vienna, Zurich, or Basel. I've decided that I'm going to join the supporters club of my city's local club. I know it's not for another year or so, but I could try to work on something when I cross that bridge. If I'm assigned to one of those cities...these would be the possible clubs: Hertha BSC Berlin ------------- Berlin, Germany 1. FC Union Berlin ------------- Berlin, Germany FC Koeln --------------------- Cologne, Germany Rapid Wien ------------------- Vienna, Austria FK Austria Wien --------------- Vienna, Austria FC Zuerich -------------------- Zurich, Switzerland Grasshopper-Club Zuerich ------ Zurich, Switzerland FC Basel ---------------------- Basel, Switzerland I don't know if this helps or if it's too far off...or if frankly no one likes any of these clubs. I'm just putting it out there as an idea. I'll know what university/city I'll be attending by October 1.
I put in a word with my friend who is part of the Green Army in Cleveland about an "alliance" to see what he thinks of the idea. EDIT: update My buddy in the Green army said he thinks they'd be all for an alliance with the Nordecke. I guess for Rochester they have a Split Cleveland/Rochester scarf. I'll be back down at OU with this guy in a couple of weeks and we could possibly talk face to face again. Correct me if I'm wrong but the whole idea here is to... -Get Crew fans to City Games -Get City fans to Crew Games -Swap songs and idea's -Swap Banners -Hopefully make some sort of Ohio-Crew/city scarf or banner
I think aligning with a more local club in the short term is a great idea. But I think you should not continue efforts to get a (few) international clubs(s) allied as well.
Wow that may be the first time I've ever seen that actually done other than an attempt at humor or a burn. Thanks, I fixed mine too. I must have been caught between two different thoughts and didn't proofread. +1 rep for being my editor.
How about the Yellow Fever. They are the supporters group for the A-League team Wellington Phoenix FC. Wellington is the only team from NZ currently competing in the A-League. Besides the Duncan Oughton New Zealand connection their colors are yellow and black.
Yellow Fever. Solid name for a supporters group. These people just look like our allies. It would be worth the effort.
