If u pm me with what your working out for i can give you gthe lowdown on legal and some illegal ways to develop
I'd stay away from that stuff is I were you. I have a neighbor who took creatine. It ended up screwing up his heart so badly that he can never play competitive sports again.
yeah. for about a year, i was really concerned with trying to gain weight and get bigger. i took creatine, all that stuff...and did gain weight, but it didnt help my game at all. im actually smaller now than i was before i started taking the creatine, by about 10lbs actually, and i am a better player, a more well rounded player than i used to be. size doesnt matter on the pitch, its what you can do with the ball that matters. just have strength, upper and lower, dont be weak now, dont misread what im saying....its just you dont have to be huge to win the battles, rather quick in the mind and in the feet.
A short story: Estonia's national team's coach used to work in Rotterdam Feyenoord (he's Dutch). One day he found out that the team's physician had given creatine to a player. 10 minutes later that physician was fired. Make your own conclusions.
All you need to be the best you can be at soccer is a right diet and a right lifestyle. Sports drinks and vitamins are the only "supplements" you should use.
right. a simple multi vitamin is all you need. eating vegetables, rices, potatoes, fruits, fish, chicken, breads.....is all you'll need to fuel yourself and make yourself the best possible player you can be.
I'd stay away from supplement if I were you. A well rounded diet is what you really need. There are many side-effects that are damaging- both to your game and your health.
stay away from creotine... a once excellent soccer player i know from my high school team ruined his promising career taking that ************. it just isn't worth it. i agree that the only pills you should take are multivitamins, though that doesn't give you an excuse to not eat right.
there are just more risks than payoffs when taking something like creatine. keep away from it is all i tell ya. how old are you by the way?
I've asked around a lot about creatine, and only this place has recommended I stay away from it. There's a lot of mystery surrounding creatine. but I think I've read enough legit articles to form my own opinion. To me, if you do everything right it can help your performance. I'm 18
i've just looked up creatine (http://www.creatinemonohydrate.net/), and this site that gave info has made sure I will definitely not take them (i wasn't thinking about doing it anyway, i didn't even know what it was before this post was made).. you have to be careful what form of creatine you take, there is some in a meat, when cooked, that can cause cancer or something like that.. It also may have long-term effects too, but it is unclear at the moment. And I quote from the site "We'll neither advocate nor discourage the use of creatine", so they aren't trying to put you off taking it; just honest information.
I took Ripped Fuel - 4 pills per day for about 2 years. Until 2 weeks ago. Very little side effects. Now I take Hydroxycut because it doesn't have ephydrine. I didn't want to push my luck too hard. Course I'm 35 years old and trying to keep my metabolism from slowing to a crawl. For that they work - don't know about any body building effects.
C'mon, what DOESN'T give you cancer these days? I'd much rather have glorious years now playing GREAT football with the help of supplements then when i die of cancer @ 50/60.
Well, then take steroids. The kid I was talking about took creatine and it caused him to have an irregular heart beat.
When cigarettes first came out, nobody knew about all of the damaging and life-threatening side effects. As time went on and studies were done, these damaging effects were shown. Creatine is still relatively new, and as such, nobody can tell you what the long term effects will really be. Any study you read that tells you how safe it is to take it is bull, since no long term studies are complete (and, for what it's worth, the studies in progress are beginning to show some disconcerting trends.)
eat more food and lift weights. simple as that. obviously you're gonna do whatever you want, and not a lot that's said here will change that. but im here to tell you from personal experience, that creatine isn't all it's cracked up to be. yeah, i gained quite a bit of weight on it, good weight as well...but did it help me become a better player, NO. being bigger isn't gonna increase your skill level by any means at all. but do whatever man, i honestly could care less. it's not my problem.
if you're in high school i'd suggest running cross country. you'll gain all your weight in muscle. even if you're older running can help build up muscle.
