Okay--Feb. 28th. It's supposed to be today that we see the supplemental draft. Expect SJ (first) to pick Ching. I"d guess (given the injuries for the SoS, failure so far to sign Rosas and Shephard showing some limitations) that they'd go for the best available outside mid.

Should be mildly interesting to see what happens. Since DCU didn't give up all spots in the draft but took SJ's 6th spot, I'd guess there is a very outside change we'd pick someone.

Wasn't it postponed because of that whole issue arising from the A-League players to whom MLS spoke without proper permission?

MLS says there is a scaled down version of it still going on. Ian Joy maybe the most recognizeable name involved, former Kidderminster Harriers player with a U.S. passport. He was held out of the Player Combine because of some concerns about an old knee injury, but has since been cleared and trained with a couple of MLS teams. I imagine he'll be gone before DCU's selection.

Looks like only Scott Vallow, former P-40 GK with the Burn before going to Rochester and then back to Dallas, was signed by the Rapids.

Ian Joy is probably a good pick for Columbus. Now they can play a back line of Joy (over Denton) wide left, Dunseth and Clark in the center, and Hejduk wide right. With the right midfielder pinching in (Martino) or playing up (Buddle) they can leave the entire right flank for Hejduk. Freddy Garcia can roam on the left as Cunningham (up top) and Joy (in back) can both provide width up and down the left flank. That allows Columbus to flood the central midfield and push guys up top. It helps hide their central midfield and central defending problems.

Nice pick if he's as good as the scouting reports. Now they just need one more central defender and a true Dmid. Shavar Thomas would have gone a long way to making Columbus a legitimate contender.

While I'm not the biggest Devin Barclay fan, he's definitely better than anyone we could have added in this draft. Well done Hudspar!
