Isn't it amazing that a poll by Fox showed only 53% of people would vote for Bush? Give him a few more months of this economy and problems in Iraq, and he will lose the next election to anyone..

..in a fair vote, of course.

Wow, 32% of the people at foxnews.com would vote for Clinton? Bush is definately in trouble.

It was a phone poll not an internet poll.

Salon has a great, long article by Jake Tapper today. And you know what's interesting about it? Toward the end, he spends several paragraphs defending the Bushies from some of the more outlandish/spin-ish accusations.

That's something you never get from the rightwing, because to them, it's all about will to power. Truth is for suckers.

Only 32 percent would vote for Clinton? It must be the lack of name recognition.

Thats because Clinton was divisive and Bush isn't. How many times have liberals defended Newt Gingrich?

You consider all Republicans divisive, evil etc..
Clinton constantly had his rapid response team out making attacks against anyone that disagreed with them. You probably consider James Carville as a fair and open minded individual.

Grover Norquist was recently quoted in The Denver Post with the answer to that: "Bipartisanship is another name for date rape."

    Many thanks to Mr. Krugman.

How the heck did Faux News get the phone tree list for the John Birch Society?

    Central Park South,
Well, CNN provided lists of different communist clubs across the country so the poll was fair and balanced.

Brings back the whole "life imitating art or art imitating life" debate, big time.

    Faux News poll or not....

Bill Clinton would hand Dubya his ass in a head to head race next year. No contest.

Love him or hate him, Clinton was the most gifted politician of our time. Can you imagine those two in a debate?

I would be like Real Madrid playing the Indiana Blast.

    > Keep on underestimating Bush

Bush the younger was fighting against Al "Human Shaped Tree" Gore and still lost the popular vote. Without a Sept 11 to cover his butt in 2004 the only thing he can do to win is get cheap Iraqi oil into the economy before it falls apart. I don't know if it can be done.

All Bush would need to kick his SS in a debate is a tape recorder on the podium.

"Mr. Bush, you have 2 minutes to respond." He presses the play button:

(sound of a zipper) "I did not have sex with that woman, Ms. Lewinsky."

Bill curls up in the fetal position sucking his thumb and clutching his photo of JFK. Debate over. America saved from 4 more yrs. of disgrace.

Bush already handed Clinton his SS in the 2000 election. That election was a referendum on 8 years of Clinton, much like the 1988 election was a referendum on 8 years of Reagan. A robust economy, relative peace and prosperity, and Bush still defeated the Clinton-Gore team. A disgraced, impeached former President going to beat GWB? That's laughable. We've already fumigated the White House sink once, the American people aren't going to foot that bill again.
