Anyone else buying into this? I bought the snatch version because I liked the idea of having a sharper picture to go along with the killer soundtrack, but I dont have the TV (yet) to appreciate the better resolution.

My question is, what type of TV bare minimum are we talking here to appreciate the value of Superbit.

I'm getting a 6.1 reciever and a brand new sony DVD player with prog scan, i assume thats about as high-end as us normal folk can go...

A progressive scan DVD won't do a lot of good unless you have a pretty good tv to go along with it.

I have the Superbit versions of Desperado, The Fifth Element, Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon and Dracula, a progressive scan DVD Player and an HDTV ready Samsung tv. I haven't really noticed that much of a difference in the picture quality between the Superbit DVDs and other non Superbit DVDs I have. They do look good though, but I'm not sure that that's because of the DVD player/HDTV combo.

Oh, well I plan on buying a widescreen for next fall (if I get the cash over the summer), so I'm investing in Superbit for the future, i suppose. If you ever do a comparison with reg. and superbit DVDs, let me know :)

I've only seen the Superbit version of Fifth Element, but I thought the sound and color were much better than the 'regular' version
