Chambost was great in the middle for the first 45, was sort of invisible in the second until he got taken off. Great two corners as well. I prefer him in midfield and Sean as a defender
I gotta say... if Nancy yanked him because of the second Philly goal, that's an awfully quick hook. Did Aziel Jackson cover himself in glory on that play? Hell no. That's a shitty/lackadaisical/arrogant touch that turned the ball over in a bad spot. But I actually thought he recovered decently after that. He dogged the Philly player, got him turned around, and the ball wasn't "passed" to the goal scorer so much as he stopped it while he was going down and somebody ran onto it. He f***ed up. But he's hardly alone in that category. Our whole playing style is about playing with flair and with confidence, and if we make the occasional shitty mistake, f*** it. We've coughed up numerous goals this season screwing around in the back and we keep playing that way, so this seems pretty harsh. Nancy's earned trust, so maybe there's more to it. I will freely admit to not paying super close attention to Jackson's game prior to that, so it could be cumulative.
1842713799209460132 is not a valid tweet id AZ and Cucho after Cucho's second. Someone on reddit said he tried similar moves - one led to the corner Cucho scored and the other led to Philly goal https://www.reddit.com/r/TheMassive/s/5T8VM2eT0U
The Galaxy control their own destiny on that, but they’re at Houston for their last game, so nothing certain there.
Nah. We could still finish ahead/behind both LA clubs. Need some help to cath the Gals. Rotate some guys who need it. Guys with knocks. But go for the points and continuing to guy guys like Jones, Chambost, & Herrera more time with the 1s. Plus, the D could get a lot tighter.
I see Farsi has been called. JRR not. Could not find Cape Verde's squad, but he is injured now. I assume Hagan is as well.
I'm not advocating throwing the last couple games, but Nagbe looks like he's on his last leg at the moment (looks like he was favoring his shoulder after that hard tackle last night) and Moreira isn't fit either. Give the guys who could use it a week off if needed but play your best available after that. I want everyone at full strength for the Cup run.
Really liked Chambost’s game last night. I like him as an option next to Nagbe more than Matan. Dejuan Jones showed well also. I don’t think he showed quite enough to be considered the starter ahead of Arfsten though. I’d feel fine if he were forced to start in the playoffs, however.
I thought he has looked better at CM than as a wide attacker. 2 assists on CK's were beautiful. It is nice that both he and Herrera are showing their versatility now. Chambost at CM and Herrera at RCB. For next week: INT duty: Cucho, Schulte, Farsi, Hagan, Habroune. Injured: Zawadzki. INT duty or injured: Moreira Probably out: Bush ------------------ --------------------Romero---------------- Herrera----Camacho----Cheberko Arfsten---Nagbe---Chambost---Dj Jones -----Matan------Ramirez-----Rossi----- Bench: Bush (hopefully); Amundsen, De Jones; Yeboah; Jackson; JRR.
I loved seeing Chambost serve up two really good corner kicks onto Cucho's head for goals. For years The Crew has struggled with good service on corner kicks, even with players like Higuain and Lucas Z. taking them. We have finally found our corner kick specialist!
Maybe he’s shit at practice. Nancy sees him all day every day, I’ll defer to him. Clearly there was something STL didn’t like about AZ, otherwise they wouldn’t have sold him.
The word from St Louis was that basically the guy had (hopefully past tense here) what amounted to an attitude problem. Didn't listen to anybody, didn't do what he was told, was more or less uncoachable despite undeniable talent. They were tired of his act. Since there are few if any secrets amongst MLS people, you have to assume that Issa/Wilfried knew this stuff about him. Maybe Wilfried figured that he could get the kid to see things differently or grow up or whatever. It's obviously a projection here but one is tempted to conclude that there was something AZ had been instructed to do or not do and, ten minutes into his shift, he chose to ignore it. And part of the deal clearly is that Nancy ain't putting up with it. If Darlington goes off script occasionally, well, he's more than earned the right; AZ sure as hell hasn't.
