I was not avenge-ed! Anywho... we probably should avoid backing into the playoffs; home field against everyone but Miami would be nice. Time to regroup and make Jim Curtain miserable-er. I won't catch this one live (stupid wedding), SO NO SPOILERS. Discuss. Bonus track.
Dr. Jay Martin of Ohio Wesleyan men's soccer is the Match Ignitor. Long-term Crew fans may remember as the color commentator for radio broadcasts.
Jay Martin ( he's about a much a Dr as Jill Biden) was a very good Div 3 soccer coach. He was however a retty weak game broadcaster.
I honestly can't decide if this is going to be a match where everyone comes out with their hair on fire and dominates, or if Nancy rotates the lineup. I'm guessing the first is more likely, as we actually play one match a week for a while.
That match on Wednesday must have taken a lot out of the players. Trying to come back like that while a man down led to a super high mental expenditure and surely a lot of physical fatigue too.
I'm certainly not ruling it out that guys get rested. It's probably going to be an as-needed situation.
Cucho has looked really good when he's subbed on in the second half. (Of course he's looked really good when he starts too.)
I was at the Orlando Philadelphia game Wednesday night. Philadelphia back line is very susceptible to ball movement and speed. I would look for a 3-0 crew win. Not impressed by Philly at this time
Philadelphia has not won in Columbus since 2016. Maybe Cucho is a 2H sub. Crew pull away late as Union push forward to get something from the game and win by 2.
Markus is going to his fifth or sixth Crew game with grandpa for the season. Crew need to show up tonight and put in a great performance.
After Philly lost on July 13th their only losses have been vrs Columbus 2x (home & away ), @ Miami and just recently at Orlando on Wednesday. We can’t take this time lightly they are significantly better than their record. Their organization if it wasn’t so cheap could really be tough to handle. If Nancy ever left I bet Curtin would love to coach at a organization who will spend. Ik we are upset about this summer window transactions, but you see a lot of teams selling players and not reinvesting.

Pretty sure Moreira's hamstring or groin is the issue. He had it wrapped last game and was struggling
??? Is this D. Jones' first start? Time for him to shit or get off the pot. Is Chambost playing next to Nagbe? I have to assume so, with Ramirez, Rossi and Cucho in there. Is that first? I also find it interesting that, in a match where we're missing out first choice CB, Moriera is out and Herrera starts in that role. Seems pretty cobbled together, to me. It's felt that way ever since Morris left.
