    According to FCbarcelona.com

Javier's request to have the red card rescinded was denied by the federation.

So expect some juggling at the top of the line-up

    My prediction.

    Barca 3 - 2 Real

The game is tied entering the 90th minute, Figo is tracking back to cover another Overmars headless chicken run, and when the ball comes to his feet in his own box, he has a wicked flashback and thinks the ball is a pigs head (thanks to a new ball slipped in by Nike before the game wit ha snout on it) and kicks it into his own goal..Barca win.

After the game Figo is run out of Madrid and ends up playing for Espanyol next year as Real buy beckham and posh.

Antic Hopes To Secure Future By Haunting Madrid

Radomir Antic has plenty of reasons to hope for a Barcelona victory over Real Madrid at the Bernabeu on Saturday evening, but the one of the most pressing is that his future at the club could depend on it. The stand-in coach has done a good job of stabilising Barca in the midst of a nightmare season on and off the pitch, but has no idea whether he will still be at the Nou Camp after the summer.

Of course, that will not be in the minds of Barcelona fans, whose sole ambition will be to continue the job started by Real Sociedad last weekend and knock Madrid off the path to La Liga glory. With their own season relying on the Champions League for any success, the fallen Catalan giants still want to have a say in the title race, even if they have not even been close to it themselves.

Having lost 4-2 to Deportivo la Coruna at home last weekend, there is also some pride to restore, as Antic's honeymoon period of unbeaten games has come to an end. The former Madrid coach is focused on immediate matters, but also has his eye on the future, knowing how important a result this could be personally: "Obviously I would like to continue to coach Barca, but I live in the present and we will see what happens in the future. I think that, above all, I have brought dedication to this team.

"I am very focused and I have high hopes that Barcelona will get a win at the Bernabeu Stadium. Nerves can affect the players, the atmosphere also influences the outcome of the match but I am confident that the top players will perform and that the team will get a win." Their preparations have not been helped by the training ground fight between Luis Enrique and Marc Overmars earlier in the week, nor the fact that Javier Saviola will have to wait until the morning of the game to see if his appeal against a one-match ban will allow him to play.

Meanwhile, Madrid will be even more eager for a win after their defeat to Real last weekend opened up the La Liga title race. Victory could have nearly sewn it up for them, but now they cannot afford another slip-up, especially not so soon, and not against their biggest rivals. They too have had bad news with Raul likely to miss the game with an ankle injury picked up in training on Thursday morning. With Champions League quarter-final second legs to play next week, neither side will be taking chances even for this clash.

One player who will be relishing the match more than most is Luis Figo, who will also be hoping for a quieter time than earlier in the season. The former Barcelona star was subjected to vitriolic abuse from his ex-fans, resulting in a two-match stadium ban for Barca. However, it did not change his view of these fixtures: "It is a classic and that is why it is special. The past is only useful to remember and that is it. My life is here and I am centred at Real Madrid," said Figo. "I am not obsessed over the past. Maybe others are because after three years they are still talking about me."

Another former Nou Camp hero, Ronaldo, will be making his first appearance against Barca for Madrid, after missing the previous match, and said that he can't wait: "I am looking forward to playing against Barcelona because in the last years I have seen this clash on television." He will not have to run the "gauntlet of hate" until he plays at the Nou Camp next season, but still has a lot to do to win over his new fans, and a winning goal against Barcelona would be a great start.

Yesterday (Weds) there was a report on espn.soccernet that Overmars and LE had a bust up during training.

Tony's priorities for the rest of the season for Barca

    1)win the Champs League
    2)don't get relegated.

    in that order.

If Barca gets by Juve next week, they would likely face the 'White Storm' again in the Champs League.

So, I think Raddy ought to call up the B squad and get all the starters rested and ready to play Juve.

Geez, no wonder I do so poorly in Champ Manager 4 (I'm trying to salvage Oviedo's season). ;)

Hey, if we keep getting results like the one from tonight, they can fight all they want. ;) Enrique comes up big in a big game once again, but how about Bonano? I didn't think he had it in him. And it sounds like Barça finally had something they hadn't had all year- a little bit of luck.

I agree-he came up big; outstanding game.

Luis Enrique...I find him to be a pest and over-the-top in the derbi. But I'll give him this: he came into the Bernabeu and got into their faces-something Madrid lacks when they play at Camp Nou. I think if they had a player-especailly a Spanish player-who could basically say, "toma, hijo de putas!" and play with balls-out ganas, Madrid would have a better record in the away leg of the derbi. But they often play intimidated and tight.

I think that's a great point...the one thing about the Merengues that I haven't noticed in recent memory is a bit of venom on those occasions when they need it. Maybe its a reflection of Del Bosque and his calm demeanor, maybe its something else (the 'international' make-up of the squad?). You always hope your team has a bit of a chip on their shoulder for matches like that and even Del Bosque said they lacked a little enthusiasm (read it in the Guardian).

The bill that our performance left us its way too high! LE21 with a rupture, Puyol with the same and Xavi with a luxation again! :(

Barça was pure heart and cojones, not a real direction to push RM, I think we suffer every time Xavi has a bad time (let alone when he's injured) I think we should accelerate Iniesta's recovery and I wish we could re-sign Rangers star Arteta!
