Apparently Arteta didn't love him enough to keep him

Ballard is 26, thought he was younger than that.

7 minutes of stoppage. Seems like a lot.

FVCK. That was something though. 2-2 with 3 mins of stoppage left.

Hated Merino’s effort in the lead-up to that.

Ballard again. Thwarts a near certain goal which would've won it for us.

would rather not dissect this one all that much. I suppose Mikel could have managed it better once we took the lead, but I can't fault the boys all that much. They played their asses off.

That game was ours but we took our foot off the pedal. We could've used some subs to keep the energy up.

Loved the fight the boys showed after Sunderland leveled late. There's no quit in this team.

    FT SUN 2-2 ARS

A tough test up in the North East. And a tale of two halves.

Though we dominated the ball, we were pretty anemic in 1T and could've even been more than 1-0 down. But we came out from the break a different team, a quantum leap up in desire, urgency and tempo.

BUT, as I said upthread, it felt like we might need 3 goals to secure this match. And since we failed in that regard, so it turned out to be. Still that 2T was something to watch, especially the end.

I guess to some this is a draw that feels like a loss. And gone is the chance of an all-time English record of consecutive clean sheets, but I don't care about that.

And I'm not too distraught. We still showed that we've got a lot about us, and should be able to keep our title challenge going.
