I wouldn't be surprised. He impressed in the EPL in his short term there. He was instrumental at the US's run in the World Cup, and Man City has all the money in the world. He'd be a great target for Man City to attempt to break into the lucrative American market. ... I know I'll be a fan of whatever team picks him up.
i just don't know. the idea of having a player at the highest club level is nice but i would much rather see him at Everton where he would start more and ride the pine less. even there, breaking into the Everton midfield was/would be tough but it would be nearly impossible at Man City ... and that is BEFORE they go on a spending orgy and bring in even more talented offensive players. if donovan wants to take his game even further and hopefully still be a big time contributor in 2014 he needs to look for a Dempsey at Fulham situation. in a league with the highest level of competition, great coaching but not so "big time" that he will get lost in the shuffle.
Problem is Everton doesn't have the money... and even if they did and both teams got into a bidding war over Donovan, Man City could easily outspend. Personally, I'd rather him goto Everton as well, but if Man City wants him... they're gonna get him.
