I saw this in the Fagundez article
"In other cases of a transfer, the team gets at most two-thirds of the fee."
I thought it was always 2/3 for regular players and 3/4 for hgp. Has anyone else heard of a transfer fee being less than 2/3 to the team? I'm sure it's happened since MLS makes up so many rules as it goes along, but is that a regular thing to give a team less than 2/3?

and worth every penny of about $400 000- hope they sign him for the next 3 years plus an option- his play alone gave us an extra 5-6 points and caused us to be #2 in the west

    RBNY / Metro...

On again off again Sebastian may indeed be on again...if true and we can retain Miazga that center back position may be stronger this year than last...we've also had good success with excess Red Bull defenders...Sekagya...

Jesse/club looking for continuity...satisfied with last year's roster plus academy youth...the problem has always been with the strength of the academy it's never clear we can keep the top guys...don't know for sake of argument if either Davis or Adams will be here in 5 years...

Loved the Chelsea FA Cup telecast today where the announcers traced the team's and by extension Mourinho's downfall to Chelsea's pre-season loss to the "New York Red Bulls reserves...almost their youth team"...at the game I of course pointed out to Chelsea fans including fans from England that when subs came in after our second goal they were essentially playing against the RBNY third division reserve team and academy kids not even our first team reserves...and though the starters were still licking their wounds after the US Open Cup defeat I thought seeing the kids stand up to Chelsea actually helped the first team players recover and played a role in our successful Supporters Shield season...

Is this meant sarcastically? We haven't had a single good signing from another RB club. Sekagya single handedly cost us a chance at MLS Cup in 2013 and was inconsistent every time he played.

The other candidates for "best" RB players to have joined Metro are Ernst Öbster, Brian Nielsen and Markus Schopp.

    No sarcasm at all...

Liked Sekagya...was worried heading into the season when it became clear he wasn't returning...made that mistake indeed but all defenders make the occasional mistake...thought he was a solid player...

Analogously...don't agree with the conventional wisdom on Miazga that he didn't play particularly well in 2014...thought he was every bit the player he was last year but he did make a couple of mistakes that led Petke to bench him (for Sekagya??? lol) for the season...Mike did the same thing in '14 with Duvall...thought he should have stayed with both players...

And like the fact there's separation between the Red Bull teams...

You're right we can't expect a steady diet of good players from Salzburg or Leipzig or even Brazil...unlike NYCFC we make decisions here in New York if another Red Bull club has a player they don't need...thought Nielson and Schopp were worth the roll of the dice...one proved to be shot the other couldn't overcome chronic injuries...

But like the fact that we're not waiting for the 2016 shipment of Leipzig developmental players we'll be obliged to play so the parent club can see if they're part of their future...don't have a parent club...like that a lot actually...

That's what Willian did to him in the Brazil friendly. Only, Willian had the ball.
