Hmmm. I recognize the quote, which is a popular Biblical reference. So we're talking old school, something with a romance language connection, no? Italy would be too obvious so maybe somewhere in Spain?
A Catholic high school in the area has a similar crest. It's run by Dominicans if that helps anyone. Seemed a dead end to me. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fenwick_High_School_(Oak_Park,_Illinois)
There's a rather vocal segment of soccer fans who like to confuse "loud and ridiculous" with "good". Plus if you're that impressed what can be made cheaply made sublimation print graphics, you've seen what shows up on jerseys in beer league hockey. Though FWIW, I think minor league teams should go all out with a bunch of ridiculous kits. For MLS, notsomuch.
I did like the hashtag, though. #fullmingo. I appreciate the all-in philosophy. Man, picking out kits for the year was one of my favorite parts of coaching. Hearing the input from the parents and kids was just too funny.
I used to feel strongly about MLS kit designs needing to be more conservative. I guess I was scarred by the 1996 uniforms. I thought MLS should look more like Premier League clubs, which have the dullest kits of all the top leagues. Now, I'd rather see more creative and memorable designs than what we're seeing in MLS. Too many monochrome kits. Too many all white alternates.
I would agree with this, but I would also say it's better to air on the side of too conservative with the uniforms than too radical. MLS is right now trying to get taken seriously as one of the big boys. You want to look the part. If a third level team wants to get attention this way, no problem.
Those Madison kits are the kind that are going to show up in the "ridiculous kits of the 20s" listicles of the 40s and 50s, if the internet and clickbait listicles still exist. Reminiscent of the stuff you find if you Google "bad 90s soccer kits". Their regular home blue and away pink shirts are quite nice, not normal at all but not ridiculous.
Yes, @Stuart95 , I already told you USMP = Universidad San Martin de Porres, commonly abbreviated since, well, thats kind of a mouthful. I only know this because my brother had an exchange student from Lima. ( Actually he was officially an au pair, which is French for "person who lives with us and helps with the kids in exchange for room and board") but au pair sounds so stuffy and he was in fact taking classes. Turned out he was a lot more interested in loose American girls than either kids or college. Go figure. Have a great Memorial Day.
