Anyone have suggestions of targets for the summer transfer market?

I see after today's matches that Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink will likely be looking for work. I can't see him staying with Charlton since they will be in the Coke next year. Could he be a proven goalscorer to go after? I would assume he would have to be a DP, otherwise the money wouldn't bring him stateside.

    There must be others.

I wouldn't be adverse to having JFH on the team. He's got a decent pedigree.

I'm also wondering, if Wigan ends up getting relegated, what's happening to Emile Heskey? He's a guy who I think the Crew could really do well with, especially with him being a big guy who's strong in the air.

Of course this is all just speculation and wishful thinking.

big and strong in the air doesn't score much goals or assists, also, Heskey hasn't done much to avoid two teams being relegated. Sign Heskey = being lastplace.

Whore out the Crewzers and sign Carlos Teves. A West Ham Hammer to a Columbus Crew.....it's meant to be.

    Cheers,

Better yet, don't whore them out. Sell copies of a montage of their Thriller routines on DVD. Make a ton of money from sales and make a yearly update. Then we get repeat sales, keep them on the field, and buy a huge name DP by the year 2436.

Keller is out at Gladbach as of today. Doubt we'd go after him, but would not be surprised to see him in MLS in August.

You have to think Sigi wouldn't want Kasey's ego around, if nothing else.

But if he's willing (and can't get any other offers overseas) I'm sure several teams would love to have him for the box office appeal. He'd have to be a DP and I just don't see him being worth it.

He has said, however, that he wants to backstop the US team in 2010 when he'll be, what, 57? If that's still the case then he's going to have to work someplace.

No, but as he is still injured, he's effectively done for the season. Christian Ziege, the new sports director for BMG, said that they really hadn't counted on Keller being willing to play in the 2BL, so they had pretty much decided on going with youth for next year. Then Keller surprised everyone by saying he was willing to stay, noting that his career had started in the 2nd division and now it had come full circle. Ziege said it was the toughest decision he had to make as he is good friends with Keller from their days at Tottenham, but that they decided to go with Helmroth for next season and he's played well in Keller's absence (which is true, he got a 1,5 from Kicker for his performance vs Bayern last week and made "Elf des Woches" (11 of the Week) too). This is a rough paraphrase of what's on the BMG site. Not surprising that Keller wanted to stay. Gladbach fans are some of the loyalest and best in the BL (yes, I'm biased, but then I've been one since 1972 too).

BMG is old-school glory days back when they used to dominate a majority of other teams. I've never been or really seen anything at BMG, but I can only imagine that with that kind of solid history that the fan base is pretty nice.

I wasn't aware that Keller was injured either. What happened? Also, he really needs to give up this nonsense of playing the next WC. Maybe he has, once he got to the point of being willing to fight with BMG next year to regain BL1 status.

Tore a muscle in his right thigh clearing the ball in almost the last play of the match vs Hamburg--out 4-6 weeks.
