Costinha is pretty much done now..why would athletico offer him to us?..
    because they dont want him.

Ageuro, in our dreams my friends:(

I'm hoping its Petrov, maybe maxi rodriguez.

We should use the money we got from Simaos transfer and get maxi rodriguez from them as retribution:D

    Screw daniel carvalho and Bilyatdentov

I prefer Costinha watching Fernandes back then Petit. Costinha does not commit utterly useless pass and allows for more fluid ball control, although he does not have the knack of scoring that Petit does from time to time.

Take into consideration the two players that Benfica are getting are hypothetically becoming the collateral for the 5 million euros left over that they sought for Simao. Bearing that in mind, I highly doubt the choices are going to be ANY players that play a significant role at Atletico.

Yes but costinha isnt what we need anymore, hes past it and isnt superior to petit right now like he was before.

petit and kastouranis are enough, along with fernandes.

Completely agree with you there. I'm just not sure what other 7 players are going to be on that offer sheet because Costinha will definitely be one of them regardless of whether or not Benfica takes him.

    I agree 100%.

Petit is a bulldog when it comes to helping out the back four. Costinha is old and has lost whatever he had in Porto. Manuel Fernandes and Katsouranis will a do a great job alongside Petit.

Besides, if it's true that Benfica are getting a couple of players in this deal, then I'd like to see them take a winger.

    Re: Benfica without Simão

Benfica had the best reforcos this transfer season and with $20m we can definately buy another great player. Theres no way we're out of it. Especially with Cardozo and Bergessio that will replace all of Simao's goal scoring. Simao was my absolute favorite and im not gunna lie im miserable cuz he left, its not going to be the same with him, but we still got Rui Costa the big PlayerMaker abd plenty of talent on the team. And its just like Sporting losing Nani and Ricardo and Porto losing Pepe and Anderson, except Benfica only lost 1 main player.

Im probably more shocked than anyone. I love Simao, he has been my favorite player on Benfica for a long long time. Everything was going great with the transfer season and this jus comes as a low blow. Hopefully we can capitialize and get a huge player with the money we got cuz we all know we need a replacement and a DAMNN good one too!!! I dont think Freddy Adu will be a bad pick up, I saw him play the Real Salt Lake vs. Boca Juniors and he did great, but if we good get someone with great talent and experience, we will still not only be a threat to the BWIN LIGA, but the CL too.

As much as I like Simoa, Benfica is going younger and I beleive that is the correct thing to do. I think this will be an exciting team to watch this year. Be patient guys.

I agree with my friend Eurodad. Simao already gave us what he could. Chances are he will have 2-3 good seasons left in him, but this man is not enough to win a CL. This is Benfica's goal at the time. If Adu comes to Benfica he might really turn out into a one of a kind player. We shall see, I'm excited for the season to start.

Forca Glorioso SLB!!! Nimguem para o Benfica.

Well put bud. I think Benfica should also persue a few more young talents. One player that comes to mind (I really really like this kid) is Pele. I think this kid is going to be one of the best mids in Portugal one day. The composure he has is way way ahead of his age. What do you think Ultra ?

To tell you the truth ED, I have not seen much of him. My cousin has been raving about him but due to all these summer classes I have been taking I missed much of the U-20 World Cup where I believe Pele was playing. I need to look into this ******** Pele.

Who do you think will captain Benfica next season?

Above I sai Simao is not enough to win a CL. I meant to say that him and only him is not enough. Although we were finally getting him the help we need to understand Simao's feelings. He wanted a new adventure and we need to respect that, and not be sad. He won us a Championship and a Taca. We will be more than OK without him anf LFV will get the right man this time. Guys, how long did it take PdC to get things right. Let's have patience.

Forca Benfica, ate de cor-de-rosa mete medo!

Benfica will be just fine. Nice to see the concerns from the other team fans but Benfica will come out of this summer a younger, faster, hungrier team and with a much more potent offence. I like what our team is doing.

much more potent offence??? impotent mayb... obviously u ppl are part of the crazy group of voters on record.pt... 44% of which think Benfica will win the league... Benfica has lost their two best players from last season... we havent.... i actually look at your team and think how you guys can win this league at all... we may have lost anderson butt at least we brought in some bright prospects.... you guys put all your eggs in one basket and excpect 30 goals a season from him.... the title is between porto and sporting next season you guys can push braga for third

and in regards to your picture of the pigeon holding on to a dragon and a lion i would like to point out that is their was a fight between a dragon (komodo) and an eagle i dnt c the eagle doing much damage, same as between a eagle and a lion, lion would win..... but it would b intresting to watch a komodo dragon fight a lion... just like th season is gna b... a fight between us too.... i used komodo dragon due to the fact that large flying, firebreathing ones do not exist except in the world of fantasy

no we still have Polga, Miguel Veloso, Romagnoli, Joao Moutinho, Djalo etc...

and most importantly we still have LIEDSON

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-NlfjeGmpSo

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PlIuxhiBgow

LIEDSON - the Destroyer of Benfica.

we have good players dont you worry, You forget to realise most of Benficas goals assists were directly attributed to Simao. the same cant be said with Sporting about Nani, who sat down many games on the bench (although when he did play in a few games he was instrumental)

Sporting has the best midfield and best strikers going into the new season. Gladstone and The Mijavocic (the goalie, spelling may be wrong) are gonna be good players I predict.
