We've heard Jan Mucha will be joining us soon. There's also a possibility that Gostinyi will also come. Beckford is also a very strong possibility. I believe this is the first striker signing to be official. http://www.skysports.com/story/0,19528,11671_6120931,00.html There were no video clips of him online as he plays for a low level Portugese team. from his wiki page: João SilvaPersonal information Full name João Pedro Pereira Silva Date of birth May 21, 1990 (1990-05-21) (age 19) Place of birth Vila das Aves, Portugal Height1.89 m (6 ft 2+1⁄2 in) Playing positionStriker Club information Current club Desportivo Aves Number19 Youth career 1999-2009Desportivo Aves Senior career1 Years ClubApp (Gls)*2009-Desportivo Aves21 (9) http://translate.google.com.au/tran...umar-ao-everton.html&sl=pt&tl=en&hl=&ie=UTF-8
joao silva is a name that's popped up several years in a row. I will believe any and all signings only once the OS has a pic of them with their jersey and a "welcome so and so to everton" :\
Lets swoop for Torres since Liverpool are decidedly going to be relegated next year!!! Beckford SHOULD be a good signing, fingers crossed. I would still really like to see a proven forward come to the club. Maybe Huntelaar from AC Milan which was rumoured during the winter.
Torres is outside our price range even if we sell Pienaar and Rodwell. Yakubu was an instant spark the second he came on today. I am confident he can do a great job next season. The Huntelaar rumor was for a loan, not a buy.
While yakubu may be a spark he is not a player you can rely on week in and week out. I think we need a 20 goal scorer. Our midfield is solid for sure. But we can't rely on arteta every game can we?
These threads always get a lot of traffic, yet ALWAYS end in the same way. No-one previously mentioned in the thread at all signs out of the blue (scuse the pun) and we're left going 'did you hear about that?', 'does anyone know who he is?' so I'll try and save my posts for then
who's that big belgian with a big ol' fro? so according "history" we should not expect moutinho, beckford, gostonyi, etc.
Heard reports we could be after this fella http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ivan_Klasnić Decent player and would give us a different option
Had an okay year but I wasn't terribly impressed. He's becoming 30 too. Then again we got Saha at that age and he turned alright (at least until he signed that contract )
I've been reading these forums for a couple of years now and this thread often tickles me. All thee names get thrown around and people think they're the dogs bollocks after watching a ten minute youtube video of them playing in the French league or something. This summer, with no European football to offer, NO DOUBT our main priority is to keep hold of all of our players. The only player I can conceivably see us selling is Yakubu. Our squad is very good, very very good. A few extras bodies is what I'd like to see.
I dont believe the Europa league is that big a draw to be honest to potential signings so i dont think it will affect who Moyes can buy and not buy
Mlapa and Ignjovski? Rumors are that Everton is set to splash out 3m Pounds for 1860 youngster Peniel Mlapa and perhaps another few million for Serbian midfielder Alex Ignjovski?? The only primary source I can see is goal.com....and we know how reliable they can be. Any truth to this? I tell you, these kids are good....for the 2.BL but I don't see them as Everton first team caliber yet. But if you want to splash some of that EPL money around my club we will gladly take it.
Re: Mlapa and Ignjovski? If they can be steals like Pienaar, Cahill and Arteta were then I'm all for it. Chances are, some other club will get him just like every other youngster in the headlines (other than Mustafi).
Re: Mlapa and Ignjovski? Except we have no idea with Mustafi. At least these players are playing first team football and are still young. I can't see how we can get Ignjovski because he's Serbian and we wouldn't get a workpermit. And Mlapa would be counterproductive seeing as we have (allegedly) already signed Joao Silva, who's a similar striker (even their height is the same).
Seamus Coleman is through to the C'ship Play-off Final with Blackpool. He's good going forward at the mo, but was getting beaten a fair bit by Tyson late on. Still looks like a good prospect but still don't think he's ready for the first team.
Can someone confirm whether we put a bid in against Tottenham for Man. city's Craig Bellamy? I read a "rumour" on dailymail.co.uk
Doubt it's true. He's too much trouble and Moyes knows that. And he's not good at all. He has pace and some moments of brilliance but those are few and far between.
