Cashley saga to be wrapped up this week

Thank god. If we come out with 20m+ or 10m and gallas, this could be one of our best deals of all time. I'll be really disappointed if he does go for 16m or below, in which case I'd have preferred to have him sit in the reserves for 2 years, and fine him wages for all sorts of things to keep the cost of that down.

at least 15m plus gallas would be good. he is turning 29 this month and with our policy of offering one year contracts to players over 30. it doesn't look like a lucrative deal imo. gallas would probably be offered a two year deal if he did sign with us.

Lets buy Heskey, he's the foil Henry needs. It's sooooooo obvious.

how many times has a big name player for cash+another big name player actually happened?

the idea gets thrown out all the time, but I can't really think of anything right now.

Hey i found this piece of info today about Ribery, so it looks like we only have Gallas left to look forward to signing:

According to reports in France, Franck Ribery will be playing in the white of Real Madrid this season. Lyon, Arsenal and Manchester United have all been linked with the player, but fresh reports claim that Ribery's move to Real is a done deal.

If Ashley goes and Sol already departed it means Arsenal will have a foreign back line for the first time in their history.

more importantly, our payroll has dramatically decreased hasnt it? no pires, sol, ashley cole, bergkamp on the books... henry has a new huge deal, but still.

Ridic- i dont think Reyes is going anywhere for the time being...

however, I like how Wenger agreed with so many on BS boardsa bout Ribery- "where do I fit Ribery in?"

Don't buy the Real and Reyes hype from Spain, he will play tomorrow and stay a Gunner.

The bids that Real are offering are too low for Wenger to sell.

What is wrong with my clubs?! Trying to go after players they don't need! Roma for even more midfielders and Arsenal the same, only, it's attacking midfielders, something we've got boats of. Reyes is better than Ribery anyways, and he's not leaving, so it's a waste of money.

I wonder if all these Reyes to Real stories will get to his head.

All I remember is Reyes schooling Cicinho last year.. :D

Gallas + Ribery will make my summer. Convert Reyes to a striker and leave him there with Henry, illustrating the partnership that was there at the beginning of 2004.

Have Ribery on the left, and we don't need another striker. Problem solved.

leaving out robin van persie would be criminal.

    my pecking order of strikers:

    1)monsieur Henry
    2)Van Persie
    3)Adebayor
    4)Reyes
    5)Aliadiere
    6)Bendtner
    7)Toure ;)
