Are any Swiss or Austrian teams planning on having summer tours in the USA?

If they do, I wouldn't expect an anouncement until the offseason starts.

I imagine that the two teams involved in the Intertoto Cup will not do any summer tours. Xamax could start planning one. Basel and GC will wait until the season is over to set one up.

Thun, Wil and the other LNA/LNB teams probatly will not go very far. Now that I look at it, we can only hope for GC/Basel/or Xamax to come over.

I know FC Zurich was in Mexico during the break, or was that GC?

It was GC. It will be very tight for summer tours across the atlantic. The next season starts already in July. Where do you live Rob?

    CL Result

Right between Philadelphia and Baltimore. I just moved out here from NM in Aug. So the "Aggie" is NMSU, not Texas A&M. I was not out here for last years tours of the east coast by Basel or GC I can't remember.

But it looks like Barcelona will be in the Intertoto Cup. They lost, and if they want to play in the UEFA Cup, they have to qualify through the Intertoto Cup.

Aren't they 13th? That's not even an Intertoto spot right now. They might be able to have their U.S. summer tour after all.

PS: I'm no Longhorn, so I have nothing against aggies. ;)

PSS: It was Basel that came over and played DCU and NE.

    Re: Re: CL Result

From my understanding, the Intertoto Cup is not necessarly the nex two after CL/Uefa Cup spots. I know about a month ago there was a deadline for team entries. England did not have any, and Barcelona put one in incase they did not win the CL. I am not totally sure what will happen, but it will be funny to not see Barcelona in any UEFA competitions next season.

That is correct. But if the Spanish teams ahead of Barcelona put in an entry as well, it will be them participating.

A little OT, but if Barcelona does get into the Intertoto Cup, would they still play their tour here in the US?

My guess is no, but only Barcelona knows for sure.

I think Barcelona is coming over, contracts signed, etc.

Plus they will need some games to get warmed up. Secondly if they have to qualify they surely have enough talent to get by a first round Inter-toto cup match. Well I'd think they have enough.
