I don’t have to like any aspect of French culture, nor am I particularly interested in it other than the fact that I wouldn’t want people I love to visit there who are obviously not welcome.
Actually they're welcoming people by the boatloads! I am sorry but I can’t think of a single country with this much aura. It’s not debatable. pic.twitter.com/oeMRDyB4OK— Tactical Manager (@ManagerTactical) July 26, 2024 Le Pen must be fuming Her party loses the election, now she has to watch boat loads of foreigners enter Paris— Joseph Gellman (@joseph_gellman) July 26, 2024 They should've had dudes dressed up as like Danton Desmoulins and Saint-Just light the torch... Who can the US have play the LA Olympics that would match this Are you fucking kidding me this is the best thing I’ve ever seen https://t.co/46UZVMqViO— Melissa Stetten (@MelissaStetten) July 26, 2024
France is a very welcoming country. Like any other country is has its flaws and crazy people. But this idea that the opening ceremony is somehow picking on anyone is nutty. I recommend a chill pill and letting go of those pearls that are being clutched so tightly.
Enjoyed the ceremony and loved to see Paris use its amazing culture, history, and city. Didn't think that the players would be able to make it to Paris, or else I would have been trying to spot one of the big guys like Zimmerman or Tessmann on the USA boat.
They seem to have just done their own event When you can't go to the #OpeningCeremony, you bring the Opening Ceremony to you 🤩#OlyMNT pic.twitter.com/w2Ztj2F8HK— U.S. Soccer YNT (@USYNT) July 26, 2024
All seven goals scored by the U.S. Olympic Men's Soccer Team in the Group Stage of the #OlympicGames were scored by current or former @MLS players: ⚽️⚽️Djordje Mihailovic⚽️⚽️ Kevin Paredes⚽️Paxten Aaronson⚽️Gianluca Busio⚽️Walker Zimmerman pic.twitter.com/fJBrSBeCCf— MLS Communications (@MLS_PR) July 30, 2024 It think development should always be a consideration at the youth levels, but also know marketing MLS is more important to them than winning or development. How dare they note that all the goals we've scored in the 2024 Olympic Games were by current or past MLS players!
The next match is the big one. Win this and you are guaranteed to play a game with a medal on the line.
I would actually be shocked and very disappointed if they weren’t promoting themselves through their own channels. That is what everyone does, and that is what everyone should do My inbox is loaded with other leagues, such as the Premier league, Ligue 1, and the Bundesliga doing the same thing. The things people complain about
The odds of a goal being scored by someone on the Olympic roster who isn't a current or former MLS player is rather small, given that the only one with no MLS connection is Dietz.
Do you have any handy from this Olympics or euros/Copa? I'm specifically interested in ones for the leagues own national team. Did the EPL really celebrate all the EPL players that helped England to the Euro final?
I respect that, and I would also like to add that I am not a super fan of French people. In fact I would have to go so far as to say I am not even a simple fan. This an opinion based on personal experience.
I've had good luck in all parts of France. But I come from a francophone country and speak the language. The whole country to me is a wonderful work of art. My favorite regions are Alsace and Brittany, but Paris is in an entirely different category. I've taken to fantasizing about retiring somewhere in France someday.
Yeah I’ve spent a good amount of time there and enjoyed it very much. I enjoyed Paris too but to the extent the stereotype of French rudeness is true it’s mostly just Paris (though I’ve had good experiences there). And yes it sounds like a nice place to retire https://rollcall.com/2024/03/27/living-abroad-jim-mcdermott-finds-his-liberal-utopia/
Wow this is really cool, they built a statue for the Paris Olympics that’s modeled after a local attraction you can find near UNLV’s stadium. https://t.co/5lC5nKgnTF— RedditCFB (@RedditCFB) July 22, 2024
