There's obviously a lot of uncertainly with ownership situation and what players will stay given the ongoing plandemic but the guts of a good team is here. With a few correct additions we can keep this run going. The gap is not that far from Inter or Lazio. Atalanta may move on some pieces next year, perhaps they even cash in on a few big players so there is a slight chance they arnt as smooth. We're really not that far away.

We will be in a better position when we manage to get rid of our dead weight. The majority of our highest earners don't see the field except in rare occasions.

Pastore makes 4.5m a year net
    Kalinic 3m
    Florenzi 3m
    Perotti 3m
    Zappacosta 2.5m
    Fazio 2.5m
    Under 2.5m
    Juan Jesus 2.2m

That is 46.4m gross wages that Roma are paying for players who don't see the field. We simply can't afford that.

The problem is everyone is only getting stronger this summer. Inter are addressing all of their problem areas and Lazio are trying to land David Silva. Then you have Napoli and Milan who, if not for having the wrong coaches at the beginning of the season, probably would be ahead of us. Milan I believe are only second to Atalanta in points since the season opened back up. Napoli also just dropped 50 million on a new striker and are also in for Boga.

Funny enough, I think Juve might be the one we close the most distance with next season.

Oshimen scored 13 goals in Ligue 1, lets not call him the next Higuain just yet.

Why Mongo Why? Why a dry loan? We could have him for peanuts if there's an option to buy.

Strongest Italy's been in a while but no worries as football never works out as simple as that. Players come in and things don't always work out, they don't fit the tactics, the style, manager can't get the message across like he did the year before. Depending on how we handle our situation, I might have a different opinion in 6 weeks but right now I see a lot of good pieces. Tweak the core and get the clear done.

I do think the price is too high for Smalling but we can't go into the season with Ibanez penciled in as the starter after a handful of games. At best Ibanez should be considered the 4th CB in a back 3

If Smalling leaves someone will come in to replace him without question. Nkolou and Vertoghen are mentioned.

We'll see what happens, but I don't view not signing Smalling for 20 mil, then trading Schick ( who we value in the 20+ range) for nkolou as shrewd business. At least we've seen Smalling succeed in Rome.

I'm sure any deal involving Schick to Torino will be another accounting exchange with inflated values, though.

Petrachi restores in 6 months what Mongo destroyed in 2 years. I’d say his only mistake was Zappacosta.

Zappacosta had another solid game today. Not much wrong with him as a player.

What’s Zappacosta’s wages? If he’s Petrachis biggest mistake that says a lot.

Hes been decent since seeing the pitch. Not sure what's so lol about him. Hes a solid all rounder. If the right money is available then we could do a lot worse. Hes a good vice to Peres given hes more balanced.

Yeah, if we are sticking with a 3-4-3, I don't think we are that far off. Really just need a solid midfielder to pair with Diawara.

But if the plan is to go back to a 4-2-3-1, I think we are pretty far off from the rest of the pack.
