I doubt Jović goes for 100M. Besides, we have great relationship with Eintracht. As such, that rumor is probably b.s.
Eintracht Frankfurt’s football director Fredi Bobic talked to FOX Sports about the future of Serbian attacker Luka Jovic, who is rumored to be on his way to Real Madrid this next summer. “There’s no agreement right now but it’s true that both clubs are talking. Furthermore, there are many clubs interested in Luka,” said Bobic. https://www.managingmadrid.com/2019...-frankfurt-luka-jovic-real-madrid-quotes-2019
Realistically, Mbappe won't be at Real Madrid until his contract ends. Even if his contract does end, many big money teams that have deeper pockets than RM will fight for his signature. Unless he specifically wants to play for Zidane and with his national teammates, I think getting him is unlikely. This is just him trying to stir stuff up for a fatter contract or a power move against his current manager or teammated to show who is the alpha.
The downside of what MBappe has done is that now other clubs will try to play the money game with us. "You're ready to throw 300ME around for MBappe? Then you have money to buy my player too, fee is now +25-33% from before." A very big transfer, even if still a rumored transfer now, will have the same effect as when Neymar was being sold. Prices raise because every clubs will try to argue that "if MBappe is 300, then my players worth that [insert stupid fee for average players]".
Strange time for Mbappé to say what he said (especially the bit about Alkhalefei), but I still think he’s a distraction and not a realistic target. If Frankfurt really want 100m for Jovic that would make me think about the possibility of Felix instead.
Before Modric came nobody expected him to win 4 champions league and one golden ball and that he would take a small republic independant since 20 years to a world cup final. Before Mijatovic came nobody expected that he would bring to Real Madrid the first champions league in 32 years. Guys never learn the lessons...
Frankfurt want a bidding war and to sell Jovic to highest bidder, as they should. At the end of the day if the player wants to be here, he’ll be here.
Part of that is also on the club though, there should have been a clause put in where the player has to play X amount of minutes while on loan.
If Real Madrid keeps being strong about not wanting to pay more than a certain amount i think that Jovic already gave his word.
We'll see. My bet is that when clubs would ask 60ME, now it'll be 80-100ME. We have no obligation to accept though. As for Jovic, I never really believed they would sell him for 60ME anyways. I know what you will tell me: Jovic is not worth more than that. But it isn't for us to decide.
