130-150 is the new 60 mil, so spending that on Pogba in this current market seems fair enough, you ain’t prying a giant’ like Man Utd’s best player without paying through your teeth, especially if you have no leverage. So give them the 150 and let’s get ready for the next season.
Below €150M. If it isn't I don't see us buying him. Why is it you guys selective obsess over agent fees when damn near every transfer including the ones you want have them?
Because most transfers are not worth 100M+ nor being brokered by a shithead like Raiola. As such, there is zero chance that gross sum goes bellow 150M. Pipe dream basically.
Real Madrid have not negotiated with Atlético Madrid for James. [@antonmeana]— 𝗥𝗠𝗢𝗻𝗹𝘆 (@ReaIMadridOnly) July 19, 2019
LOL. James with option to go play for favorite coach because current coach hates him worse than death and refuses to look at him or say his name, yet clubs can't come to agreement. Only other realistic option would be selling directly to city rival who is upgrading #10 shirt, and that's completely speculative (and dependant on Correa sale).
If they are selling Correa for 55M (I didn’t know he wore the #10 lol) and get James for 50M recuperating 5M in the process that would be the best deal of the summer. Atletico made a ton of money this year with the sales of Griezman, Rodri and Hernandez.. getting replacements for relatively cheap, except Joao of course.
They asked Zidane about Pogba today and his answer was “until the 31st anything is possible.. players leaving as well as new players joining” On Bale: “His situation has not changed at all” he also said.. “Gareth is here has a contract and I need to respect all players. He is a RM player, we’ll see what happens” On James: “James right now is a Real Madrid player and he’s on vacation, we’ll see what happens. i can’t tell you anything else”
All of Zidane's response are professional ones avoiding conflict. I wonder if he would respond the same as Pogba if they asked him about Neymar
Sounds like ZZ thinks Pogba deal is very much possible Zidane: "Pogba? You ask me another question and I will always answer the same. We know with the club what we want to do and we are working on what we want to do. What I’m looking forward to is tomorrow's match and working bit by bit. We have time & we'll see what will happen."— M•A•J (@Ultra_Suristic) July 20, 2019
The Pogba deal is possible tomorrow morning if we pay what they are asking. Also, I would assume that the player will either not be available after August 8 or his price will double considering ManUtd can sell him but not buy anybody anymore. So we're really looking more at the next couple weeks for results on that. I personally think we have an agreement with Eriksen to sign him for free in mid-season but who knows.
Which is fine for me. He's not as much of a must as Hazard was, so getting him on a free would be the best solution. Eriksen is a great player, but doesn't necessarily bring the qualities that apparently Zidane is looking for to form his midfield trident. Let's be clear: if we can get both (there is still a chance this happens), then please do. Great players are always welcome, so is Eriksen.
The club was very clear at the beginning of the transfer window that we wanted the squad in place prior to preseason training. The quick movement suggest that wasn't just talk. I think we have other signings we'd like to get done but we're not going to stress about it. Nobody is going to strong arm us into doing anything at this point. The players moving out OTOH... We could get some bitter pills between now and the closing of the transfer window.
I really hope so. Maybe that's why Levy is trying to flog him to anyone and we haven't really bit yet. If he's coming free he won't make much noise or demands. Levy on the other hand will try to move him even at discount.
Me too. I strongly support this. Hopefully this is what we go for and he has the guts for it. We need to assure him that we've got his back and he needs to hold his own, then boom, as soon as the transfer window opens we sign him and he's sealed.
We could conceivably have both Pogba and a Eriksen for ca.150m? You win on some and lose on others, net impact would be massive for our midfield.
It doesn't really work like that though. We would get Eriksen next season. So we're still paying 150 for Pogba and nothing else.
Madrid wants 40 million for James ... and would not veto Atleti https://www.marca.com/futbol/real-madrid/2019/07/20/5d331273ca474125328b4623.html
