Whoa, didn't think we'd actually land this kid. He's one of the few likable and talented Yanks so I'll be pulling for him. Welcome to Werder.
Obraniak's rep confirms interest from PAOK and contact with other clubs. One with very serious interest. They believe a decision may be made by mid-week.
Newcastle and Everton offered €12 Mio for Vestergaard, but at the end he declined both of them choosing to stay at Werder as he feels his development is coming along well here. Good call, he's been our best defender so far, and was MOTM in the win against Gladbach. However, according to his consultant anything can happen next summer. For a sum of € 20 Mio or plus, they admit it will be tough to turn down such a move. For someone that arrived here a year ago for € 2.5 Mio that's quite a profit. Even greater than what we previously made from the sale of Sokratis. This can also allow us some additional time to scout out another potential replacement for the future. http://www.bild.de/sport/fussball/werder-bremen/12-millionen-angebot-abgelehnt-42399164.bild.html
Pizarro makes his return to Werder once again, he arrived at the Bremen airport this afternoon and was greeted by fans. Announcement should be made official on Monday. From what I've read it looks to be a 1-year contract with an option for addition year. Unglaubliche Bilder vom Flughafen. We should keep tabs on Shani Tarashaj from Grasshoppers Club Zurich. He's been one of the top players in the Swiss league so far this season, with 7 goals and 2 assists in 8 games all combined. Prior to signing Johannsson, we were previously linked to his teammate Munas Dabbur. Shani is several years younger (currently 20 y/o) and looks to be the better talent of the two and with higher ceiling altogether. There's good versatility in his game, having the ability to play secondary striker, attacking midfield, and along the wing. His contract expires next summer in 2016 which makes him an even more ideal target. This is also the same club where we signed Ulisses Garcia from as a free transfer.
Rouven Schröder was seen observing the Eintracht Braunschweig vs Greuther Fürth game on Monday. Rumours mention that he was there to scout Braunschweig's striker Emil Berggren, a player that we were reportedly keeping an eye on since the summer.
Some new reports mentioning Andrei Girotto is a player we might be targeting for the January transfer window. He's a 23 y/o Brazilian defensive midfielder from Palmeiras.
Greek sources saying that we sent scouts to observe PAOK's right-back, Dimitrios Konstantinidis during their EL match up with Dortmund last week.
Werder and Stuttgart are in the mix to sign Takashi Usami. Looks like he's grown a lot as a player since his first stint in the Bundesliga. He finished with 24 goals last season with his club Gamba Osaka across all competitions, including being top scorer in the J.League - 1st stage. Gaku Shibasaki is another interesting Japanese player to watch for. And also linked to several clubs across Europe.
Lt. Sportbild ist Stoke City an Anthony Ujah dran. Zudem sei Jannik Vestergaard West Ham und Newcastle "rund 15 Mio. Euro wert". #werder— worum.org (@worum_org) November 11, 2015 According to SportBild, Stoke City are interested in Ujah. Vestergaard is also a potential target for West Ham and Newcastle valued at around 15 Mio. Both of them are significant players for us this season. However, at 10-15 Mio transfer revenue per player it will be very difficult to turn down those offers. It then becomes imperative that management and scouts begin their search on possible replacements for next campaign.
Eichin was at the Braunschweig game on Friday vs Bochum. Reports say that he was there to scout Gerrit Holtmann. Their starting winger who is a native Bremer and was also in Werder's youth system earlier on. His contract expires this upcoming summer and may be an option to look at. http://www.waz-online.de/Eintracht/Aktuell/Werder-Manager-Eichin-wegen-Holtmann-da
This Hungarian source says that Werder have sent scouts to observe Norbert Balogh from Debreceni VSC. He's a 19 year old striker, who is also part of the Hungary U21 NT. http://www.nemzetisport.hu/labdarug...gatott-csatart-ket-nemet-klub-figyeli-2453343
Justin Eilers, leading scorer with 20 goals in 3. Liga, will join Werder from Dresden. He is known for his good morale, but I am not sure how he will adopt to Bundesliga football at age 27.
I don't have very high expectations for him. But if Eilers can surprise us and be like Bartels to provide decent production in the rotation, then he'll be a welcomed addition.
Stand heute: Sieben "Neuzugänge" für #Werder zur Saison 2016/2017. Gesamtablöse: 0 Euro. pic.twitter.com/1DpAmjWbWz— worum.org (@worum_org) April 18, 2016
Vestergaard to Gladbach rumors being mentioned lately. He's an important defender for us but for 10 Mio or so it'll be difficult to turn down such a deal.
We've also signed Leon Guwara to a contract extension until 2019. Currently there's bit of a surplus of players at the LB position. There's both Garcias, Sternberg, and Guwara. Hasn't been brought up yet, but a possibility might be Santi getting sold this summer to bring in more revenue. This would also provide more space for the young guys to move further up.
Werder are also being linked with another Dresden player, Marvin Stefaniak. He's younger than Eilers, being 21 years old and leads the 3.Liga with 18 assists this season. Also a member of Germany U20 NT. According to this source, he can be available for about 1.5 Mio. https://mopo24.de/Dresden#!nachrich...nsfer-millionen-abloese-gladbach-bremen-67665
According to this, Werder's buy back clause on Füllkrug is valid until the end of May. http://www.ligainsider.de/niclas-fuellkrug_1867/option-noch-bis-ende-mai-gueltig-144742/
