I see this guy win every ball in the air even over world cup players...did anyone else see him assist the second goal in new jersey..cause i did and he didnt get any credit for it at all. he may not be the man in the league but from what ive watched hes learning and he busts his butt every min..im looking foward to him being a bigger impact..give the rookie credit for winning a head ball, even if it was over a work cup player..anyone else agree??
I had originally thought it was Beckerman, but the web feed wasn't real clear but regardless, whoever it was deserves an assist. Edit to add...I've read that it came off Pope's back, yes, but only because the Rapids player headed it onto Pope's back.
Watching it on Direct Kick, I jotted down that Sullivan won it in the air, and headed the cross down to Borchers (deflecting off Pope's shoulder a bit as it went down) who nailed it home. I'm pretty shocked that Sullivan (and De la Torre) didn't get the assist, because it was only a few weeks ago that Rey-rey got an assist after crossing back towards the goal mouth, having the Dallas keeper punch it out (at which point I would have reset the clock, as it were) and then watching Henderson smack the keeper's pride silly. So, Sullivan should definitely get an assist, a slight deflection off someone's shoulder notwithstanding. And Sullivan should be up top heading every damn thing in sight when he's in the game. In his other 10-minute forward appearances, he's had similar skill with strong headers, just some poor luck until now. I guess it continues as the stats folks forgot about him... Cheers, BilFish
