Sukur from Turkey is out of contract with his Italian club. Is there any chance MLS can bring him to the USA? Would any teams (NY/NJ) be interested? Seems like he would be a great addition for the league. http://sports.yahoo.com/m/world/news/reuters/20020927/reu-sukur20020927.html
HAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA. Hakan Sukur interested in MLS. HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
Unfortunately, this has no chance of happening. My Turkish is terrible, but I believe the article below says Rangers are offering 25,000 pounds a week, which is a bit beyond MLS' capabilities. http://www.fanatik.com.tr/haber.asp?PID=256&HID=11&haberID=65976
I wonder if an A-league team would be interested in picking up Denilson? And the AYSO might have some room for Kahn.
Kahn is too good for any human soccer league. But, hey man, don't dis MLS. It's still the #1 league on the planet. Put it this way: The rest of the world was too scared to play LA Galaxy of all teams. That pretty much tells you that we're at the top of the food chain. Poor, but the best.
Hakan Sukur would have been a good fit in the MLS. He is not the same goal machine that he used to be. Back in 99/00 he carried Galatasaray all the way to win the UEFA Cup. But the Sukur we saw in WC02 ... it was more like his team was carrying him. Allthough he did leave his name in history books this summer as the fastest goalscorer ever in the history of the world cup. Now he will be playing in relative obscurity in the Scottish league. At least in the MLS he would be more in the spotlight. Oh well ...
