If the SG's could swing this somehow, and sing it in good, crisp unison, it could be epic: [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lJwgP44Ap9E&feature=player_embedded"]YouTube - hippo and dog[/ame] Of course, we'd have to chase it with [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=olzz82oRCMI"]YouTube - Metallica - Hero of the Day[/ame], so we didn't sound like a herd of burn-outs.
I applaud the effort, but I don't think the supporters want the Lions to be sleeping. Modify the lyrics maybe? Love the Metallica song though!
Excellent point. That didn't occur to me. It'd lose something without the visual, which is the main thing that cracks me up, even though I've had to see it a gazillion times in the past two years for my (now) five-year-old's amusement.
I love Hero of the Day. That would make a great opening song. Like how Liverpool starts each match by singing "You'll Never Walk Alone".
I've loved the idea of either "Hero of the Day," or maybe for big game or with a bitter rival, maybe Prodigy's "Breathe" or "Serial Thrilla." I've always loved those. Heck, one of my best soccer memories is of a business trip in DC in late 1999 and the night before going to a United match, jogging around the National Mall while listening to that Prodigy disc, and then stopping for a 5 v 5 some guys were playing on the lawn. Great stuff. That suggestion of Liverpool's anthem reminds me that that group was from the Merseyside region. Maybe there's an Orlando band that OCSC could lift a track from as the team anthem. Not sure who, but there'd at least be a couple from which to choose: - Seven Mary Three - Creed (I know, but still...) - ??? No idea if any of their songs would fit, since they're both basically the post-grundge equivalents of 80's hair bands, but anyway.
Matchbox Twenty. The chorus of "Push" would make a great base for a chant. I wanna push you around Well I will, well I will I wanna push you down Well I will, well I will I wanna take you for granted I wanna take you for granted Yeah, well I will Use this list: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Category:Musical_groups_from_Orlando,_Florida As long as you avoid N*Sync and Backstreet Boys. If you expand to Gainesville, you could grab Tom Petty.
