So who had the Seattle at RSL game on the Fourth of July pegged as the MLS match of the teams in the worst form? And that's taking into consideration the TFC at FC Dallas match.

Right now, they stink, and we stink, and we're set for Suck Bowl 2012. We've lost three straight at home including the USOC, and a league-worsr three straight in MSL after getting to ten wins before anyone else. Seattle started out like gangbusters, but over their last six games are L-T-L-T-L-T (good news for us: they are set for a loss based on that pattern - and we started that series for them). Eddie Johnson is playing lights-out lately, and a goalscorer with a hot hand isn't what we need right now.

Somehow it will still be a matchup of 2 v 3 in the west. Unbelievable.

So buckle up boys and girls! There'll be fireworks one way or another!

Osvaldo Alonso is out due to yellow card accumulation.

Morales may yet survive to play another game and Beckerman's chances of receiving a yellow card are now reduced dramatically.

I'm a little lost without El-Alwhatever's normal cheeky starting lineup. Getting a little nervous and shaky. I may need to think up one on my own unless he contributes something soon.

Hats off to Ismije's start to this thread, I think the cheeky line-ups while quite amusing the first few times are getting a little old.
As poor as RSL has been playing lately I would be worried if this match was against my daughters highschool team, Seattle despite playing poor of late will still be a tough match for RSL.

I'm moving to Utah from the central coast of California on Wednesday and was thinking about trying to make it in time for this game. But seeing how they have been playing I am not so sure anymore. I guess it might be worth it for the firework show?

Whatever excuse you need, use it. Seattle/RSL matches are always a good time, high drama. Yeah thanks Ismitje for starting this thread. I think we need to change the mojo here.

    tickets are selling fast
so if you are going, better get tickets asap

any word on if Olave will be back?
If not, we'll need to score 2 or 3 to get a W as Montero and Johnson will give BorGert fits

I seriously doubt Schuler is anywhere near match fitness...

Yeah, I was expecting to see the lineup from El-whatever to look like this:
R:poop:L vs. :poop:le Sounders P/I/P Wednesday July 4th (and all that other schtuff)

    Seattles XI:
    :poop:
    :poop::poop::poop::poop:
    :poop: :poop: :poop:
    :poop: :poop: :poop:
    And RSL's
    :barefoot:
    :ninja: :cautious: :alien:
    :speechless:
    :devilish: :coffee:

GK - Barefoot Rimando (so he will be less willing to get out of position)
Defense - "Ninja" Tanaka, "cautious" Borchers(without Olave), "alien" Wingert (unfamiliar CB role), and "Oops (back-pass)" Beltran
Midfield Diamond - "Shut your mouth around maruffo" Beckerman, "Short-fused Satan" Steele, "Hyper Coffee" Johnson, "cry my eyes out" (aka, why can't we have the old Morales) Morales.
Forwards - "Always angry" Espindola, and "Wake the f*** up" Saborio

    Aspects of this match:
    • Holiday Game
    • Near capacity crowd (about 1000 tickets left, at the most)
    • we're in just awesome form
    • seattle plays down the wings.
So, essentially, everything that we tend to struggle with, is going against us.
    Nice

I'm feeling a few explosions. First Kries, possibly espindola and beckerman, a couple players being dropped followed by a few new signings. Oh and probably fireworks too.

We're clearly going to win. All the cards are stacked against us. Remember how LA was a trap game? This one is, too, but this time the joke is on the other guys.

it certainly makes the game a complete and utter wild card.
I really have no idea what to expect out of this team on Wednesday. Hopefully Kreis can give them some form of motivation.

Amen and amen. I wish I was going to be there, but given my recent string of bad luck, it's best that I remain far away. (Cheered for Portugal, Spain won. Cheered for Germany, Italy won. Cheering for Italy, Spain won. Cheered for Egypt, Central Africa won. Cheered for RSL... you know how that goes.)

I too have spent a great deal of time lamenting my role in the RSL slow motion car wreck of a skid over the last few games. I haven't been giving RSL my 100% fandom. I hadn't made confetti in months once my supply ran out and even worse I hadn't made a banner since before the season started. I let RSL down and now we all are paying the price.

So to try and make amends I made a new banner over the weekend in hopes that the mournful and symbolic imagery would help to motivate the team in their quest. Their quest for MLS Cup Love.

I hope it works. I've seen the way they look at the cup.

With the short week and life all happening at once, I couldn't think of anything for the Sounders vs RSL game other than, given our recent "winning" streak, RSL = Real Sucky Loosers. However, :poop: for each team would probably be good.

However, I do have an idea for the Choppers game on Saturday, ergo, don't worry, everyone will have something to hate and/or appreciate.

I really thought long and hard about a banner for the Seattle fans but time and karma made me think twice.

    7-3 Santos

I thought it might piss off fans and fire up their team so I didn't.

I think this is my favorite banner of all time. The Cusack is behind us. We can't lose. I'm predicting a 2-0 win.

I was going to make a banner over the next 3 days and then I was reminded that I am taking my D license class. For those of you that don't have it, essentially they take away every afternoon you have for 2 weeks and run "games" (don't call 'em drills!!!) into your head til you drop.

Being one of the fit younger guys, I'll be out there getting my ankles hacked off by the non-talented fat guys.

I will have a tifo for the cRapid game. So help me

You will be unbelievably tired at the end of the final Saturday. Who is teaching your class...Greg or Nermin?

And if you are planning to go on to get your C license or higher, it gets worse.

    yesterday it was Jamie.
Greg and Nermin were on my E class. Having them run training sessions was so much fun, let me tell you.
"doty, come here, you know how to do this. Show everyone how to do this"
    "greg, we never did this"
    "bullshit"
*proceed to make ass of self and then get ankle hacked at*

    Back on topic
this article by soapbox has me thinking RSL is on the brink of something. Whether that something is a fantastic run or a slump that ultimately makes this team a thing of the past (as in the core group of players who are on it) is still a question to me.

What I would like to see from the guys is a different attitude. They seem to have this mentality of "we have to be perfect out there". You can tell they fear failure more than they want to go get victory. I don't like that. Go out with some swagger. Take all this heat that the fans and media are throwing your way and say "lets ******** this team up... with goals"

If RSL loses this game I will need to take a collection. RSL hasn't won since I bought my new jersey. I will have to have some sacrificial ceremony and then replace my jersey with something else. I look forward to the days that I could show up at RioT and not worry about whether they will win, lose or tie, not the current feeling of "how are they going to give it away tonight?"
