Dortmund doesn't really need to sell either.

I assume their financial situation has stabilized and, when in contention, the club brings in a lot of money.

Not nearly as much as Bayern or any club that is in the EPL, La Liga or Serie A. The point is, Subotic con go for $15 to $20...that is still a lot of money for Dortmund, a lot of money, and he is not irreplaceable either...not with Santana warming the bench.

Though financial stability is on it's way, it is still very easy to loss it during a CL campaign by going out sooner than expected.

We could go a very long way in solidifying the depth of the squad with that money for next season.

    Not really.
Im absolutely certain that Watzke, Zorc and Klopp will expect to go out early. when making the financial plan.
Not because they don't trust the team, but because we are rookies in the champions league and because they are careful and sensitive planners.

Everything else would be ridiculous anyway, so no, we can't lose our financial stability during the cl campaign.
Maybe the old Meier&Niebaum-combo could accomplish such a feat, but they are special anyway. :D
Watzke and Co are not like that.

Generally, I still absolutely agree with your post.
Subotic is replaceable and if a team decides to pay silly money for him, management is surely going to think about it.

You are 100% right. They did not miss a beat without Subotic. As a matter of fact they asked Hummel what was the difference between Subotic and Santana? He said the difference between them is that Santana is faster. They will sell him for the right price.

Well in the last video he's driving so I hope none!

Seems to be two different cars and areas so I really wonder for how long he drove around, lol?

Yeah, could be a Lexus, a youtube poster said it might be a Nissan GTR? Both of them really rare in Germany.

A little piece on Subotic (in German). He talks about winning the title (best day of his life), his off season vacation (traveled around in a camper), his attitude going into this season, etc

Subotic and Serbia fall to Slovenia 1-0 and fail to qualify for Euro 2012.

Serbia finishes 3rd in the group behind Italy. And Estonia. :)

    That's a shame. Really.

So, since joining Serbia they've failed to get out of the group in the World Cup and failed to qualify for the European championship.

No irony there. No, none at all.

(And yes, I still think Thomas Rongen played a role in Subotic defecting to Serbia, but I also think the kid could have shown more patience, loyalty and appreciation to the US.)

Loyalty and appreciation? He obviously didn't feel American enough to play for the US...that has absolutely nothing to do with being appreciative. He may very well be very appreciative with the US as a country but that does not mean he has to give up what he considers his identity, does it?

He did get passed over for the spot by players who are not good enough to play for our full nat team at all or in MLS as a solid player. Plus he already had a bundesliga start and was going to be a starter or on the subs bench for a team about to go to the Bundesliga and he was told he was not good enough or not prepared enough. I dont know who wouldnt get upset. Especially if the coach calls you out to the media.

If he was still Anerican eligible, the Ream, Gonzalez, John discussion would not be so important.
